The manager at B&B last night Tony Powell directed a plain clothed “security guard” who did not identify himself to us to be quiet.
The manager told him to approach our table of six women (who had been at the restaurant for 3 hours at that point) instead of doing it himself as the manager.
The “security guard” whispered his comments to my friend. We thought he was begging for food or was saying something disrespectful to our friend. We called our amazing waiter and told him we were worried/scared that a random man had approached our table. Then the manager came and told us that that restaurant was empty because we were loud. When we got there the restaurant was not full and was one of the only places to take reservations last night. He accused us of keeping the side of the bar near us empty because we were loud. We weren’t. It was my bday and the waiter came with cake and candles. We sang. We are in our 40s and were having wonderful conversations and sharing laughs for about 3 hours. We ordered lots of food and bottles of wine during this period. No one ever came to us to say anything at all. The manager was so rude that some of us had to walk out. We’ve been to Che many times and have always had a wonderful experience. We will continue to share our horrific experience to everyone. We will never come back here and we will make sure to tell everyone about our experience.
Tony Powell should not be working at a restaurant. He was completely disrespectful and condescending. Why would he send someone who clearly doesn’t know how to talk to people to tell us to be quiet? It was about 10:30 pm in Cincinnati. The restaurant was almost empty. The manager was not busy. This is not the way to treat customers. If we were being loud, a simple “hello! it’s great to see you are enjoying yourselves and the food/drink but we ask that you please lower your voice.”
Only one person in my group heard the “security guard” and it left us all confused. We honestly thought the manager would call the police and escort the man out. He instead came to tell us that the guard has been there for 3 years so he believes him. Also, this guard was sitting in a booth about 10 tables away from us. He was not standing by the door. It seems they all wanted to go home and felt this would do it. It’s a shame that an overly priced meal (3 hour) turned...
Read moreTHIS PLACE! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ We had one of be best dinners of our lives last night. I asked on Facebook where I should take Lauren to celebrate her kicking butt in everything and @jamesmkarlson recommended @butcherandbarrel. So we booked a reservation and OMG. They made it such a special experience for Lauren.
Jennifer (adore her) started out seating us with a note congratulating her, a little bracelet, and non alcoholic champagne😍 she was ecstatic. Like, come on, how freaking adorable is that! Now the food….we went HAM.
*Tuna tartare with fried avocado, hearts of Palms, jalapeño crema, and rice crisps. Lauren ate it all! I had one bite.
*truffled deviled eggs. Lauren doesn’t even like deviled eggs. These were for me. She said it was one of her favorite things.
*Lobster bruschetta. Rich, buttery, and fresh. My favorite appetizer.
Then the main 🎤 drop. Australian A5 Wagyu cooked to mother freaking perfection. I died.
Then they surprised us with a dessert trio.
hazelnut fig jam crème brûlée. Crème brûlée is our favorite dessert of all time and this was one of the best ones. I asked him if he got the recipe from Jimmy Gibson before he passed away because it tasted just like Jimmy Gs. And if you’re in Cincy, you know what I’m talking about.
tiramisu. We were stuck, but we somehow managed to get this down also. Toffee and chocolate mousse and everything you want it to be.
Cream puff with a lemon sauce and berries. It was the perfect ending to such a phenomenal meal. It was light, but it was good and thank God we walked a mile and a half to from the red stadium because we were beyond full.
I 💯 recommend! The food was outstanding. I love little tapas plates for the price and selection. I’ve never really had much Argentinian food, but this was next level. I can’t...
Read moreThe ambience was nice. Not very well lit. However the service was horrible my drink which was a Tito’s lemon drop had no garnish on it. When I brought it to the attention of the server and ask him to take it back to the bar he bought me a drink back with a cherry in the bottom of it. I then went to the bar and spoke with what appear to be the head bartender and explain to her my displeasure she apologized and we made me a drink with garnish. As it was time for the meals to be ordered this server could not keep together who ordered what. He seemed a little confused and overwhelmed. By the time the meals arrive my meal arrived ice cold I ordered the shrimp linguine. Plate was cold and the food was cold. I brought it to the attention of the server and took it away and within two minutes he brought me back another plate and it was cold as well. It took almost a half an hour to get our food order so it was very strange to me that he disappeared for two minutes and came back with the same cold food. I didn’t excuse myself on the table and went and met with the manager of the restaurant I asked him to take a walk around the beer bar with me because I did not want the guests to know that I was displeased with not only the service but my drink and now even more disappointed about my meal. He apologized and assured me that he would have the chef in the back pier me whatever I ask for. I decided to go with something simple that I thought that they couldn’t mess up which was salmon and the mashed potatoes. The salmon came out pipe and hide the mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious. Will I attend this establishment again probably not parking is not good as well you have to valet at either of the hotels to the left or to the right of...
