We found this place on the Happy Cow app as a backup to the first place we tried that was inconveniently out of their unit 2 vegan ice cream options. We were hopeful that this one would pan out. But, alas, it was a disappointment. Especially compared to the place we went to in Chicago on this trip. They only had 2 vegan flavor options, but only the Strawberry was also gluten free. The other vegan, non gluten free option, was cookies and cream. Since Strawberry was the only option, I got that with sprinkles, as it was the only vegan option that was also gluten free. It was okay, but it was sorbet and not ice cream, which is not what I wanted. One of my kids got the same thing and had the same mediocre response. My other kid got a dairy option, the Salted Carmel Cone. She was also hopeful, but said she was not happy with the flavor at all and ended up throwing more than half of it away. She said it tasted more like badly burnt vanilla and that was it. I really wish I could write a better review for this place, because any time I see vegan options offered I'm excited. This time it just didn't pan out in our favor though.

My daughter & I were in Cincy on a birthday shopping trip. We wanted dessert (what's a birthday without sweet stuff?) But neither of us wanted leftover cake. We both love good, hand crafted ice cream, so when my daughter found this place on Maps it sounded perfect. It was. Very small, cozy place with a few tables. This is small batch hand crafted ice cream, so you're not going to find the dozens of flavors you'll find at the local megamart, but with quality like this who cares? Gentleman working at the counter was personable & helpful. And patient answering questions, we had a hard time making up our minds! I got layered cheesecake, plain on bottom & blueberry on top. It was amazing. Also a scoop of Dutch chocolate ice cream with an espresso. You pour the espresso over the top. I'd never tried that before & it was quite good! She got a cold layered dessert that was topped with banana pudding, definitely better than Mom made. She also liked the hot chocolate topped with a toasted marshmallow. When I'm in Cincinnati again I'll be back. There were lots of other delicious looking options to try next time!

I drive by Hello Honey everyday on my way to work and have walked past it on my way to Cafe Mochiko. You can see the list of unique flavors they have outside through their window and I've been wanting to try it for sometime. Finally stopped in today and got a waffle cone and tried the Cookies and Biscoff and Brown Butter Caramel. Both flavors were delicious. The ice cream started melting quickly and was dripping but I think that had more to do with the fact that it was over 90 degrees outside this afternoon. The homemade waffle cone was also yummy but it wasn't as crunchy as I expected. I do love that they folded the bottom so that the ice cream doesn't drip everywhere. The young man working behind the counter was friendly and pleasant. I'll probably be in again at some point to try some other flavors.

The ice cream was amazing. We purchased 4 ice creams and my sister bought ice cream from Graeter’s and joined us (she had enjoyed Graeter’s ice cream the day before) and the lady owner started yelling saying how rude to bring in another foods ice cream in my her shop. My sis apologized and stepped outside I was going to go stand with her but the lady continued yelling about how rude it was and said would you bring Wendy’s to McDonald’s. She said if she had asked before I would have let her, but it’s rude. I started to get up to join my sister and she kept going on. I finally replied “No, what is rude is that we bought 4 Ice creams and spent 33 dollars, and the way you are yelling at us as customers, and we didn’t know your policy. We decided to try it because of the reviews, as we are from Atlanta, and now my sister is standing outside by herself and your still the one being rude.” The lady owner said “I will refund you, you can leave now. We set our ice cream down and went to the cash register, and said ok “we will leave and go to Graeter’s so please refund us” she then decided she did not want to refund us and yelled”No, I will not refund you, you already started to eat your ice cream”, to which my hubs very calmly replied, we barely took a bite when you started yelling, we took the ice cream from the little one because you said “fine leave and I will refund you”, and she restated No, I will not refund you then tried to deny what she said. I looked at the male owner and said “you heard her say she would refund us, he looked at her and said “you, you did tell them you would refund them”. She finally yelled to everyone “we’ll give them refund”. I made 2 transactions, I had to buy an extra marshmallow for my youngest, so I asked for that too(she wasn’t even able to eat that, if that gives you an idea of how little time we actually had our ice cream), she yelled just give dollar cash. I had accidentally said we gave a dollar for a tip(we gave 5 for 26) instead of for the extra mallow,. Lady owner in a really sarcastic manner said “oooh a dollar”, I said no I actually tipped you 5 dollars but had paid for an extra marshmallow. The lady owner said we have tons of regular customers (the day before we saw nobody in there, but there were 2 people in there today when we arrived, but no one else came in the 30 minutes of this fiasco. I said well this has not been pleasant and we will never be back. She said to get out of here. As we were about to leave my husband took a photo of the ice creams on the table then of the people, in case the credit card company did not get the refunded money, we would know what they looked like, and would have proof that we did not eat the ice creams. The male owner came outside and started taking photos of us, and my 11 yo daughter and inside earlier the lady said she would post pictures of us. A horrible experience. To clarify the backdrop to the situation. As I dated we were from out of town. We did ask to sample (dime size samples, because their flavors looked so unique. I personally sampled 3 flavors and ordered a 2 scoop waffle cup while my kids were both talking to me and I was trying to answer them also, my oldest who is going deaf(conductive and sensorial hearing loss) sampled 3 then ordered a 2 scoop waffle cone), my youngest sampled 2, ordered a 2 scoop cone, and my husband sampled one, ordered a 2 different flavored waffle cup, my sister sampled one and decided it wasn’t for her. As we were ordering my oldest, 11 yo going deaf loudly (she talks very loud due to this), laughingly said we sampled enough for 2 scoops, 5 people 10 samples dime sized (on average at a new ice cream place people generally sample 2-3). So maybe the owner felt we should have perhaps sampled 2-3 scoops total and pot luck while ordering. My daughter is also the one that was being loud about her waffle cone. Her Aunt heard the guy say a waffle cup,(supposed to be a cone), so Aunt Jan was talking to My daughter trying to explain and had to talk loudly to her,...

Wow! Just, wow!! I take ice cream very seriously, so believe me when I tell you, this place does ice right!

I visited for the first time today with my dad. They're awesome about letting you sample, which is good because I can be super indecisive. I tried the brownies and cream first and the brownies pieces were perfect. The Brownie Time Sundae brownie uses the very same brownie, so I knew that was a win! Then it was just a matter or what ice cream to put on top of it. The Brown Butter Caramel was so sweet and full of flavor. But in the end, Peanut Butter Brittle won out. I'm really not a brittle fan, but the peanut butter ice cream was so rich and the brittle was such a sweet caramel that it totally surprised. I also decided top it with on of their toasted marshmallows because...why wouldn't I??? This sundae was perfection! The brownie was sweet, soft and moist. And this ice cream was some of the creamiest ice cream I have ever tasted! It wasn't icy in the least.

The only teeny, tiny, itsy, bitsy complaint I have is that their hot fudge hardens quickly. So if you don't eat it right away, you'll have some chocolate chunks stuck to your plate.

I will definitely be returning to...
