Went here for an afternoon relaxing massage. A coworker recommended this place and a particular masseuse. Getting appointment was easy enough. I came in 5 minutes before 5pm, my appointment time. The lady at the front counter was very friendly, the place was clean and there are several rooms to accommodate clients. I was told to get ready and lie down, the masseuse will be in momentarily. I did and waited...and waited...and waited. I think I fell into a short nap - 10 minutes - and looked at my watch, 30 minutes passed. No masseuse and I could hear some voices in the other room, talking - just having small talk. So I got up and got dressed. At the front counter, the lady asked me, all done? That's when I knew no one knew I was still waiting. The lady was very apologetic, clearly the ladies talking are her employees, chatting not knowing a client was waiting. I wanted to walk out and just go, but the counter lady kept and apologizing and pulled me in the room. So I said I'm just doing the foot massage instead. She did give me a discount for the foot massage, but my mood was already ruined and wasn't able to fully enjoy the experience.
Also the tip seem to be mandated -
I gave 3 stars, because the place could still be a good place to visit. Some clients coming in and getting out seemed to be satisfied. The experience just ruined it for me.
Not sure if I will be...
Read moreI get adjustments and massages regularly because I work for a chiropractor. On Tuesday, I went to New Happy Day Spa on greenback lane because my sister bought a groupon for mother's day. However my experience was less then pleasant as my masseuse did not do a good job and put me in a lot of pain. He was extremely rough like he was starting a chainsaw or something, I had asked him a few times to maybe go a little easier, but he continued to work at the same rough pace. It was almost like he was trying to adjust me the way he tugged and pulled at my body. I know that some people prefer a harder massage, but if you are getting a massage because you've been injured or just want to relax, I would go elsewhere as these masseuse do not listen to their clients. I have been adjusted 3 times this week and have had to get another massage to try to decrease the pain. I have had many massages in the past but have never been as sore as I am today. I am not blasting New Happy Day Spa as I have been to other chains and have had a pleasant experiences, but the one on Greenback needs to seriously improve their...
Read moreAmy gave me the best massage I've had in years! I love the technique Footy Rooty uses where first they massage you with towels over your body for what seems like at least 20 minutes to warm up the muscles, then without charging extra like some places, they place heated stones on those key places on your back then rub them on the muscles they just massaged. Then when you're feeling all relaxed and happy, they use the warm oil and massage you all over. (I chose the 80 minute foot and body massage).
First she massaged my scalp, then face then neck and then did my arms, front and back, and after I thought my massage was almost over, she had me lay on my back and she massaged the front of my arms and entire legs including my feet, after they soaked in a comfortably hot foot bath and I was in heaven! If you've never had your entire foot massaged before, check them out. From the bottoms to the tops, it's sheer heaven!
I definitely plan on...
