Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Citrus Heights

Updating my 4 star review. Heading to Texas Roadhouse again tomorrow for Father's Day. Now that I've been there at least 7 times and ordered to go, I feel I can give an honest review. So my favorite steak is always a filet mignon and the first 2 times I ordered it here, it was delicious. The next 2 times were to go orders and I ended up with the 3 oz filet medallion when I payed for a full Dallas filet. 2 bites and the rest sides. Highly disappointing but figured it was just because of take out. Nope! Next time I ate inside same deal. I'm not the type to send something back. Plus we tend to roll 13 deep so I know we are difficult already. Kudos to TR for always being able to seat us, reservation or not. Last several times I've tried a different meal each time since I can't trust an actual adult sized filet. First was the 3 sides meal which was good and exactly that. Next I tried the shrimp which was good. Then the chopped steak with grilled onions and mushrooms covered in cheese. Too heavy for my taste. Last time was a burger and it was good. I'd get it again. Tomorrow I'll give the Prime Rib a chance. I always get the loaded sweet potato as a side which ends up being my dessert that night. The loaded potatoes and mashed potatoes are both good sides, too. French fries I steal from my son's plate are crispy and salty. He loves the ribs which are fall of the bone and have a great sauce. It's always loud and last time I was there there were 8 birthdays (they sing and bring out a saddle for you to straddle 🤣.) I'm not a drinker but the bar looks fun and my nephew swears by their strawberry lemonade and Shirley Temple's. The workers are always friendly even if they seem frazzled. Other than it always being packed (walking in and out feels like a cattle run.) The rolls and cinnamon butter are always delicious. And the first time we came, they gave us a free fried pickle appetizer...

Definitely not Southern hospitality! This was my first time trying TRH in CA. It wasn't the best from the bread (too thick) the chicken (aweful BBQ sauce) being over charged and the hospitality was ill mannered. Definitely it will my first and last time here. We came to celebrate my husband's 4th of July birthday early and he wasn't even celebrated. We did sit in the bar area for a drink and that was great customer service. Then we got our table and sat down for over 20 minutes. I guess there was a server behind us in which we witnessed a waitress helping other guests that had just sat down we wanted to know what was going on and she rudely put her hand up and signal us to wait. Then after taking drink orders she said that wasn't her table. A team member in a red hat explain what was going on and told us that the rude waitress was going to help us I said no and she insisted until both parties at our table spoke up and said no we do not want her helping us at all. We explain to the team member what occurred. The team member who looked like a team leader took our order I truly didn't appreciate her sarcasm and not honoring the 13.99 lunch specials as she said she would. She also explained that our waitress was behind. Once we got our server she was kind and professional We got there 4:37 we got our table at 530 didn't eat until after 6:20 I understand they were busy. I will never come back and I honestly would have left had this not have been my husband's favorite restaurant. Our server who helped us the last 90 minutes I want to say was professional and helpful. She had a large table to wait on along with may onther guests. Had we been told that as we sat down would had been great. If it's too crowded don't eat there. They will not be helpful and will make you wait a long time to be served and you will be over charged. Definitely to come if you are there to...

I don’t know really disappointed with everything! been coming here for years but today i am very very upset and never thought of it that I would be writing a bad review about one of my most favorite steak house. But unfortunately here I am writing it and out of words to express my disappointment. First of all negligence in service understandable maybe short staffed. But the food was not it, was tamped and mushrooms were salty and the fries were as well. above all most favorite the steaks . Anyways asked for a manager and a teen age manager shows up I would say maybe he was not the manager or not qualified to be a manager offered a discount 30% which I said i don’t want discount i just want my steak redone. If I am coming to steak house It means I will pay and expect a best experience as always. So He said okay and when it was redone i was very disappointed I just took a deep breath and said the previous one was way better than this one. But any how no more appetite asked for manager but a different one. he came talked nicely and said they will take off the steaks from the bill which i said okay. As it was not about the bill but the disappointment and the quality any how . The bill was not it as promised asked for the manager again the teen age guy shows up with an attitude while i was explaining and showing him my food he went like Good night. Upon asking him his name he went off very rudely and walked away. Never coming back again and will advise just go to elk grove one or any other place but not this one. I will be attaching pictures.
