Red Lobster — Restaurant in Citrus Heights

Has The best Mother/Son dinner and some excellent seafood, salad, & cheddar bay biscuits. It was about to start off bad when one hostess asked if we needed a table for 2 while there were already 2 patrons sitting upfront waiting ahead of us. Immediately after we responded yesterday began reviewing the seating chart and realizing that there were no seats readily available for us which was fine. We walked in anticipating that we would wait a few minutes and have a seat until our table was ready. So while this hostess and another seemed unorganized and went back & forth a little about whether seating was available for the mature couple ahead or for us we tried to sit and wait upfront and were asked if we wanted menus while waiting. I didn't but they had already handed them to my son. They seated the couple and within maybe one minute they escorted us back to be seated. We were offered one of the small complete square booth style tables that barely fits your entrees, drinks and biscuits. The table seating area was also not clean. There were a couple of big food items on the floor under the table so I began letting the hostess know that the table she's offering needs to be cleaned and is a little too small for us. As I was letting her know I noticed a woman on my left side at a standstill and I thought that it was odd because she was standing to my left for a moment.. When I finally looked towards her she said do you want a different table? You can sit over there it's fine and I realized she was there to intervene and save the day. She turned out to be our server which was a blessing. I feel bad because I don't remember her name, I know it began with the letter C. I wanna say Cassandra or Catherine but, I don't recall but what I do remember is that she provided excellent service. She was very hospitable. She was very familiar with the menu even offering her suggestions and opinions. She was extremely attentive even when she was busy and had other tables to tend to as she also made several drinks at the bar. She was wonderful. 🥰 She checked us regularly throughout our dining experience and ensured that we were well taken care of. She was so friendly and the type of person that would make you wanna come back just to chat with her while dining again and again. She recommended the crab that begins with the letter B and is seasonal. I took her word and ordered it instead of my snow crab legs and she was right it was delicious. I was on the fence regarding the garlic herb butter mixture sauce so I got it on the side. It had some really overpowering ingredient in it that I could taste but, couldn't name at the time however it was okay in increments. My son ordered the crab boil and it looked really tasty and came in a big portion. He was full right away and I was full shortly after because we had salad and biscuits beforehand. All in All we had a very pleasant experience. I'm happy the Red Lobster CEO recently made menu option changes and hlad we still have a few remaining restaurant locations that have not closed. Hopefully, they will continue to improve and reopen new locations because Red Lobster is such a classic staple of traditional seafood where you can enjoy the basics and you know what you're getting and what to expect. I took my wife to the Red Lobster in Citrus Heights, Ca. on the afternoon of 8/5/2023 to celebrate her birthday.

We had a very disturbing experience.  We each ordered one of the top of the line meals, the double lobster dinner and the

Ultimate Feast. Almost everything about our meals was unacceptable.

Let's start with my dinner, the Ultimate Feast. The Alaskan King Crab was very small and thin with hardly any meat on it at all.

The fried shrimp tasted old and frozen and cooked with a heavy oil. I only ate one. My lobster was small and overcooked.

The baked potato tasted bad. I did not try the broccoli that was served on a separate plate with no garnishment.

My wife ordered the double lobster dinner, one lobster boiled and one grilled.  Both were overcooked and tasteless.  They were not served

with butter - it was some kind of oil that was oversalted.  In my wife's words, it was 'Pathetic!' that Red Lobster would serve

a lobster dinner and not provide real butter. Her side dishes were about the same as mine, bad.

What has happened here?  Is this Red Lobster under new management? We are extremely dissapointed as we paid $144 plus tip for

these 2 'meals'.  We had dined at this Red Lobster about 6 months earlier and ordered the same 2 dinners and they were both fine so we

were not expecting this at all and we have no plans to return in the future. In my opinion, you have dishonored your customers and

the Red Lobster name by serving these dinners. I cannot imagine the shame of an adult 'chef' that would actually put these dinners on a plate

to be served.

I didn't get to finish sending the details of my experience while checking out at the table kiosk, so I want to finish here because I love to give credit where credit is due! My boyfriend and I came to this location to celebrate for new years eve, from the moment we walked through the doors we were taken care of right away by the most attentive hostess. She was friendly and had the most beautiful smile! Our server Donn was courteous and timely even though it was a busy holiday weekend, and once again greeted us with a warm welcome and smile! While ordering with him, he was knowledgeable of the menu and which entrees would give us the most value for the price and still give us what we were craving!!! He couldn't have been more attentive, thoughtful and friendly. The service we received tonight definitely does not go unnoticed or unappreciated! I hope this message gets to the right people (management) because great employees are hard to come by and I hope they are recognized for their diligence and hard work. This is not the first time I've enjoyed dining at this location and it will not be my last, so for that I thank you for excellent food and even better service!
