J’s barbershop — Attraction in Citrus Heights

Great environment good people they make me laugh but kind of expensive that it costs me $60 for less than a hour haircut and shapping my beard up If I knew it was going to be $60 to do all of that I would have went somewhere else plus he cut me pretty good in a few spots using the straight razor and trimmers and when he was done hes like that would be $60 i know times are hard but if you want to have returning customers let them know ahead of time that its going to cost that much especially if you cut me in multiple spots but it was only one of the barbers (not owner) also the most expensive haircut and beard trim I've ever paid for only went there because it was down the street from where I was I know plenty of great Barber shops that would only charge me 30-40 Max to do my hair and beard but I feel like the owner needs to check his barbers charging way too much when there is so much competition and if you make your customer bleed you cant be charging that much I'm not the kind of person that leaves reviews but I just want what the owner to know theres no way a 45 minute haircut...

Today I took my son to J’s for cut, it was our first time. I picked it because we moved into the area and it was close, and the reviews were great. We did a walk-in and had no appointment but within a few minutes, we were approached by Stephen. He politely asked what kind of haircut we were wanting. I pulled up a picture on my phone and he said he easy, and he said he could do it ever better. That he did. My son is 9 years old and followed him over to the chair, and he instantly engaged him in conversation. What grade are you in? What do you like to do? What’s your favorite sport? As a father it made me feel great for Stephen putting the effort to get to know my son. By the time he finished it was hands down the best haircut my son has ever got. He will be our go to barber from now on.

Got my haircut by the white guy with tattoos in the back. Probably the best haircut I’ve ever received going in as a walk in. I was nervous because it seemed like he was moving all around my head quickly, genuinely blown away by the cut when he turned me around.

My son’s cut was equally as good and he received lots of compliments at school.

Downside is the music the owner plays. Lots of n word dropping and the conversation can be cleaned up. Know your audience if there’s kids around. I have to explain myself if my kids says something he hears at school and I don’t want to be...
