Impressions on my first visit: I went to several restaurants on East Avenue to scout out some place my girlfriends and I could go for a bite and drinks before a show that would be on a Sunday afternoon at the Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre. It was three o'clock on a Thursday afternoon, and there were about 15 or 20 people there, all eating meals. A few were having drinks but mostly people were there to eat. A nice crowd, college students, business professionals, some people with laptops, some just chatting. Blues-y music, lively but not overly loud. I ordered the Jambalaya, which the menu listed as a house specialty, and came with homemade corn bread. It was $12.99, I think, and at first I thought the price was steep but it was not -- it was a VERY hearty portion and delicious and well worth it! Chock-full of shrimp, chicken, sausage and vegetables; all in right-sized pieces, and some nice heat, but not overly spicy and just the right amount of rice. The chef came out and said it was his (great aunt's?) recipe, straight from the French Quarter. It was divine, and I'll be back!

I would like to start with a special shout-out to the Bar Managers Triston & Dylan. They really are the stars of the show here. When I walked in I was immediately greeted in a very welcoming manner. I found my seat at the bar and was handed a food menu, coaster, glass of water, hand sanitizer, and given some time to decide if, and what, I wanted to drink. I ordered some chicken wings, fried hard, and some fries (my usual bar food). Without a second thought Dylan brought over some ketchup, napkins, and utensils well within 60 seconds of my order, and my food came shortly thereafter. Triston made me a delicious "Spicy Margarita" that rivals even the best of cocktails. I don't know what made it spicy, but it definitely had a nice kick to it. Food was delicious, service was amazing, and I had a great time in the atmosphere of the bar while watching the game. I hear that Tuesday is Taco Trivia night, so I will definitely be returning to experience that. Thank you, guys!

Was casually walking through the neighborhood and stumbled upon this place. I thought it was just a regular ol’ bar with typical bar food, but it wasn’t; the menu is extensive. The weather was beautiful so I decided to eat outside (you can eat inside, as well). The bartender was great. She checked on me – and other customers that were eating outside – several times. The food was good; I had chili, boneless wings, and a side salad. There are a couple of bar games inside, and they have several tv’s surrounding the bar, so you won’t miss a game. Temple gets two thumbs up!

was kicked out of this bar for being kicked out of the bar next door, simply for asking for a drink. I mentioned that they will receive a one star, within minutes this place has like seven 5 star reviews suddenly. Weird though. Because for the prior month, I don't see any reviews.

In response to the owners response that I was "overserved". Complete and utter bull!!!!! Chronology of events. First, I attended THIS bar. I quietly had my drink. Bartender walked over and asked if I wanted another. I said no. (Hmm, overserved? Then why did she ask if I wanted another?) Complete lies of course. Then, I walked over to Salinger's where I was ignored. I'm curious, how did Salinger's assess I was overserved when I literally walked in, sat down and said NOTHING? Clearly. Was not overserved, they are trying to do damage control. Then after being kicked out, I walked over to Temple and sat at the bar. After 30 seconds, the girl who worked at Salinger's ran over and had the bouncers...

Extremely unprofessional employee behind the bar. We walked in late last night looking for some food, around 8:15. We got seated at the bar and the bartender instantly snapped at us for ID, we hadn’t even ordered anything she restricted yet. I said that I wasn’t going to have anything to drink and so did my girlfriend, my brother then asked for a genny. He scoffed as said that he needs to see ALL of our IDs. I pulled out my temporary paper ID as well as my expired under 21 ID I got issued from the DMV, as my birthday was 2 weeks ago. He scoffed again and said “I don’t take paper ID.” Completely humiliating! Luckily another bartender realizes he was being a jerk and came over and said I was good. At this point my girlfriend and I lost our appetite and didn’t order drinks or food. My brother asked for a burger mid rare, that was completely black when we got it.

Thanks to that bartender for losing 3 local customers! We live right down the road and would have loved...
