DON’T CHOOSE THIS LOCATION This is one of the most horrible customer service experiences I’ve had or lack there of . I called several GameStop locations to see if I could trade or sale my son’s broken XBox One S ( I broke the port for the HDMI connection while unhooking it from the television). To my surprise I was informed that as long as o had all of the pieces , I could, so I chose this location as I frequent this shopping plaza often . On Friday 12/272024 I spoke with Shawn the store manager, who informed me after hooking it up that it’s GameStop’s policy that if it’s doesn’t turn on meaning no signal due to broken port that they do not accept them for trade in this condition. So I left called a location in Tampa and they informed me that in fact this was FALSE . So I went to the GameStop location In CountrySide Mall , and they also confirmed what I was told a couple of times over the phone and what the Tampa store communicated., they infact take them even if they don’t power on , so I went on to complete the transaction. I went back to this location to explain to Shawn the so called manager, that either he’s a liar or he’s untrained. He stated “he’s been working there for a year” which leads me to believe he’s a liar and was too lazy to be diligent to process the trade. There was no accountability just a blank stare , so Shawn basically waisted my time and gas , simply because he could .I contacted customer service who never called back . Read moreWent in to “shop around” for my 8-year-old son and maybe get him a game or toy if he found something he liked. Upon entering the store, there was a table that had a huge sign that read “Holiday Sale” 40% off for everything on the table- board games, a few Xbox and PS4 games were on it, etc. Found a ‘Stranger Things’ monopoly board game and was so excited. After taking it to the register, the employee tells me that it is no longer on sale and is back to its normal price of $39.99. So I asked - if it was not on sale any longer why were there still items on the holiday sale table-and the sign still up....? His response was that “the sale must have just ended”. I asked if a manager would give us the sale price since it was still sitting there advertised that way.....his response...he was the manager and there was nothing he could do. Disappointed and aggravated that they would not honor the “sale” for the items on the table when it was clearly displayed that way. My daughter then found a $54 PS4 game that was on sale for $24.99 and he informs us that yes, that game was on sale. However, it was the last night for the sale and they didn’t have any in stock so “If I wanted it- I could hurry over to the next closest GameStop to get it because they closed in 15 minutes”. I came in with a simple question, but Kayla didn’t just answer it—she went above and beyond in every way. She took the time to call another store for me, made all the arrangements so I wouldn’t have to do a thing, and even wrote down the exact address to make it easier for me. I didn’t have to ask or insist—she just took the initiative, and that speaks volumes about her work ethic and character.
Her attention to detail, thoughtfulness, and willingness to go the extra mile made my day. Thanks to her, I was able to quickly grab the New Super Mario Bros. game from the other store, and my kids are going to be so happy!
