CLE Tiki Barge — Attraction in Cleveland

So much fun! Great views of the flats and the city/rock hall area! Rented this for a birthday party and we all had a blast! One recommendation though - it says it can hold up to 20 guests. We had 13 small to average sized adults and I wouldn’t have wanted to go any higher, at least not during the pandemic. When you take off and dock, you must be seated. All 13 of us were seated comfortably, but we only had about 6 inches to maybe 1 foot in a few cases of space between us and all bench seating was taken so I think it would’ve been difficult to add 7 more people in unless you are okay with being very very close together. Once we had taken off, we spread out more with some people standing and others sitting. We had more space but we were still not at the recommended 6 feet apart for social distancing so most of us wore masks when we weren’t actively drinking. We did this by choice for our own comfortable as this was also before the mandatory mask requirement went into effect for cuyahoga county, so I’m not sure if there will be requirements to wear a mask on board now or not. Also, we were told there would be a blender to make frozen drinks, but as we were one of the later cruises for the day, the blender was out of charge by the time we arrived and there was no way to recharge it on the boat. They said they were going to work on finding a way to fix this going forward, so if this is important to you, I would ask on the status of that. Luckily Robby was our bartender and was still able to make us delicious piña coladas even without a blender (we brought all the ingredients for them as it’s BYOB). This is such a unique way to experience downtown Cleveland! The crew are funny, personable, and made me feel comfortable and taken care of. I was invited on the Large Barge as a guest, along with a party of about 30. It’s BYOB which is nice, because I’m boujie when it comes to drinks and I want high quality ingredients and a well made cocktail. You give your drinks to the bartender, he keeps drinks safe and chilled behind the bar. He even stopped by at one point to check and see if I needed a refill. They provide cups and ice, which is nice. There’s a bathroom on board with a flushing toilet. (Kind of like the kind in campers/RVs). This is a nice amenity!! The view of Cleveland is absolutely spectacular! It was such a relaxing and beautiful trip. Our party host put on some good tunes, and it was a vibe! I’m so glad I got to experience the tiki barge and I’d love to do it again in the future!!! This experience is a great way to celebrate, whether it’s a bachelor/bachelorette party, birthday, just because… It also looks like they offer group rides open to the public on the largest boat. Definitely put this on your must-do list if you’re looking to have an amazing time...

We celebrated my 40th birthday party on the tiki barge. It was a blast! Easy to book, amazing crew and the weather was perfect for a boat ride! The only problem I had and the main reason I can’t give it five stars is because we spent more than half of our time tied to the dock. I completely understand they do not control the shipping times or when large barges come through and it was huge Barge, but when you pay almost $800 for a boat ride and then stay tied to the dock more than half of the time it really does put a damper on things.
