July 5, 2021, I visited the Cleveland Lakefront bike trail to the newly opened Wendy Park Bridge and Centennial Lake Link Trail. After touring the Lakefront and Wendy Park, it was time to head to the Wendy Park Bridge. The ease of connecting with East and West was a delight. The activity on the bridge July 5 (Monday holiday) was outstanding. After, it was back to Edgewater Park to pick up the Lakefront Trail to Gordon Square and beyond to the Centennial Lake Link Trail. Keep riding, it eventually circles around back to the flats where you can return to the Wendy Park Bridge or continue to either the Ohio&Erie Canal Path or Towpath. This is a full day Adventure so plan on spending time. If you take off trail streets to connect with the Centennial Trail, don't ride in pursuit, enjoy the ridge. There is so much cultural education and architecture to absorb. Will I visit again? Definitely yes...a day biking by the water is therapy.

I have been enjoying watching the development of this park. It is inspiring to hear the story of Wendy who the park is named after and her father who was passionate about building something so beautiful to bear her name. I am looking forward to the completion of the sand volleyball courts and walking the trails more when the weather gets nicer. This past summer I was pleasantly surprised to see that we could walk out to the old Coast Guard building. It is a beautiful work of architecture. When the weather is nice, the path sidewalk along the mouth of the Cuyahoga leading up to the retired Coast Guard building gives pretty cool views of the flats and passing watercraft from massive freight ships to single man kayaks. It is nice to he able to see the city from a different angle, it is pretty sweet when spaces like this are given to us as a gift to enjoy for years to come.

This isn't a great spot to enjoy swimming in Lake Erie or beach combing but it's got appeal for wildlife spotting or sunset watching. There's a great bike/walk trail that is nearby, going in either direction. You can take it up to Edgewater & continue on or you can head to the Flats. The old coastguard station is a fantastic spot for fishing or viewing the lake (especially during golden hour or sunset.) The monarch butterflies migrate south from up north & they stop here to rest which is an awesome sight to see. In the spring this is a hot spot for warblers.

Very quiet place during the week. Beautiful for a sunrise or sunset. My dogs love the small beach and the park keeps it clear of debris. Also a great place to pick up ornamental driftwood. Don't forget to bring that couple gallons of rinse off water if you or your dogs are in the water. There are porta potties during the summer. You can also walk all the way out to the Coast guard station but there is parking closer to the Cuyahoga river if you'd like a shorter walk. Perfect for photo areas and Lakegulls.

Probably the best view of the sunset going down in Cleveland. The Metroparks normally do a wonderful job with their parks, but this one needs more attention. No public restrooms (You might get lucky and find a overused porta potty, trash and litter accumulating, all the benches are old and decrepit. Volleyball courts need love; considering the primacy of location, I would expect the Metroparks to improve this park

Nice water front park and pier with views of the city, lake, river and historic Coast Guard Station. A nice place for a short walk, fishing, photography or watching the boats and trains go by. Plenty of parking in the main lot with a smaller parking lot closer to the railroad and bike trail bridges. Limited facilities - just porto pots. Sand volleyball courts and some picnic tables.
