This does not reflect the talent of the nail tech I've gone to previously for acrylic sets with nail art, as she is clearly talented and honestly deserves better.
The atmosphere, prices, available resources, and scheduling are absolutely terrible. There is no way to adjust or cancel your services online only book an appointment. I understand putting a card on file so that if you don't show the tech doesn't lose out but it is still uncomfortable to enter your card info to a scheduling site I've never heard of.
The first time I went my total for a new acrylic set was well over $100. Additionally, my first time there a man came over to my nail tech, said something I couldn't understand and when he walked away she told me he was talking about me saying "he thought I was someone else who was recently upset with the service." How ironic, should have been my sign. There is nothing online to refer to in order to estimate the price of what you want done and the times I've gone in have shocked me. Even a regular fill was over $80. You are charged for seemingly every little thing excluding things like"shaping the nails" and applying chrome in the nail art regardless of how large the detail is costs $15 extra??? Absolutely wild.
I was seen by someone I've never gone to for an acrylic removal and she was immediately so rough with me that she cut VERY deeply into my finger with the nail clippers which also appeared to be toe nail clippers by the size and the fact the blade was straight and not curved. My finger did not stop bleeding the entire HOUR I was there. Other than the rotary tool, they have no appropriate tools (like the curved metal tool typically seen) available to physically remove the acrylic and the tech started using HER OWN NAILS to start trying to peel off the acrylic from my nail beds. When she couldn't peel it off she then used a plastic nail tip to try to shove it between the acrylic layer and my nail. I made it obvious multiple times that she was hurting me but she didn't seem to care. She also "shaped my nails" so poorly that as soon as I got home I accepted the fact my natural nails were destroyed so I cut them off. Due to the downward "technique" of the way she filed my nails, they were left extremely thin. One was so thin that it ripped within moments of me washing my hands before leaving the salon when I went to open the door and my paper thin nail accidentally bent against the handle. My nail beds are destroyed, cut into, and clearly bruised underneath as you will see in photos. Also, the old acrylic is STILL ON MY NAILS which you can see especiallyon my thumbs. I wish I took a photo of how bad my nails looked before slapping 4 thick layers of extra glossy top coat on. I needed to even them out somehow before going into work. I also wish I took a photo of the way they were "shaped" before I chopped them myself. Not to mention, while I was cutting them bits of acrylic were flying everywhere as it crumbled away from my nails.
The beds of my nails are so sensitive now that cold and warm water are very uncomfortable even painful. I wish I just removed them at home at this point. This is going to take forever to grow out.
Lastly, the girl checking me out was so horribly rude. I walked up to the counter and waited for her to get off her phone. She looked up at me then back down to continue whatever she was doing. Eventually she asked what I needed and I said I just needed to check out and that I just had a removal. The whole interaction was unpleasant and seriously solidified the feeling that I unfortunately don't think I want to go there again. The only reason I would consider is again, the tech I've been going to is so incredibly sweet and talented. She deserves a better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBEWARE!! The owner is short on his rent this month so heās doubling prices at the checkout counter . He waited until both my hands and feet was done to say my price increased about $40 . He said that a Summer special ended but never gave any notice to the nail tech or posted any signage about the sale or needing of the sale . I would think this should be a sign or stated to the client and nail tech before starting the service . (The nail tech was just as shocked because she did the same two services two weeks prior in the same month and he said nothing ). The pedicure itself was amazing but the two nail techs that wasnāt servicing anyone came and sat next to me and began to speak so loudly on their cellphone . This was super unprofessional and done in front of the owner and he said and did nothing . This looks like an upscale professional nail salon on the outside but it truly isnāt on the inside . Beware of going at the end of the month heās super desperate and does nothing about the $25 parking tickets you receive while in his establishment. He also has a drink menu still up from the previous owner that he doesnāt have none of the ingredients to make . So sad for the good nail techs that the last owner left in his care . Great nails by them but terrible ownership . Money hungry owners will never prosper š
Response to the Money hungry owner below. So I ended up paying $137 plus tax for a French fill in and a basic pedicure with sugar scrub . Thereās no way that this service is normally $167 ??? The review was from my experience and my experience was that youāre greedy and you needed extra money this month . Also how are you just now ending a spring special at the beginning of the summer and itās fall time . You literally allowed my nail tech to check me out at the same cost from then beginning of August until now at the āSpringā bogo special . You donāt even care that your paying clients sit multiple quarters out for you or any other tech to put in their meters while you sit and pretend to work . Again Beware of this nonchalant business owner that would rather sit and talk on the phone rather then at least warn you of your meter expiring or care enough to put quarters in the meter . āI would also check for everyoneās mail license in this locationā . This owner looks very desperate to hiring any family member to pay them the bare minimum while he walks in at noon with Starbucks as the nail salon struggles . So itās never personal but very much so business . The cash discount and $23 rewards (that I built up by being a consistent client ) didnāt make a difference if you hike up every mail service to cover up your lack as a business owner . Such a shame ! Picture below of $170 worth of nail services . (A fill and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEveryone when I walked in with my friend was very warm and friendly to us. That was the highlight. I got a gel mani pedi and by the later that day it was bubbling and clear it had not been cured properly. The polish started to come off of my nails and then I went to properly remove them at a salon where I live (I was only visiting family in Cleveland when I went to Gaia). It was so hard for this other salon to remove the gel and all of my nails are now extremely thin and sensitive, they hurt. I called Gaia to tell them what had happened and explained I wasnāt local. This was my second phone call as Iād already called to them about the bubbling. The man on the phone was adamant that the mani pedi did not cause any damage, which Iām not sure how he could be sure of. He did say it was possible the gel was not cured possible. He was willing to provide a gift card for the cost of the gel polish but not the actually cost of the mani pedi. I understand a no refund policy, but not a gift card for a fraction of the price I paid because there was a āproblem with the gel polish, not the mani pediā. All of my nails are ruined because of the poor job and I can not repaint them until they grow back out strong again. Unfortunately can not recommend it to anyone because of the poor handing of this situation. Attaching photos of example on my feet. Mistakes happen, but a simple refund or gift card to cover the actual cost of the service would have...
