Artistic Monument Co — Attraction in Clifton

I was referred to Artistic Monument/Scott Rullis thru my local paint store and was told if anyone can 'GET THE JOB DONE' it is Scott @Artistic Monument/Clifton, NJ.

Upon my Mother's death at 82, [widow at 50 with 6 children] my Father was exhumed and they were both put to rest in a mausoleum, leaving the gravesite vacant.

15 years later my husband was laid to rest in that same gravesite with the same headstone that my Mother, painstakingly, had made for my Father 47 years prior.

When I met Scott, discussing my intentions of changing the name on the headstone, he immediately understood the sentimental [and monetary] value in the stone and assured me that he would accomplish what so many other monument dealers I contacted said could not be done.

Scott did inform me the process would be long, the headstone had to be removed, re-located, worked on and returned.

Upon completion, Scott called me on a Thursday to stop by and see the stone. Overcome with emotion, on that visit I let Scott know my Husbands birthday was on that Saturday.

The one last thing Scott did was make sure the stone was installed the very next day, in time for my Husbands birthday. He [and his wife] handled every transaction flawlessly with the cemetery, as well as, the new inscriptions to ensure the stone was done correctly.

I want to thank Scott, for his empathy & professionalism, truly a man of his word. He made business, personal, rare to find in today's world and very important in his line of business the same business where other monument dealers did not even have the dignity to return my phone calls.

I finally feel my husband is laid to rest and I have Artistic Monument to thank for that.

Horrible experience. I walked in with my husband and told the salesman that I would like info on a monument for my mother. He didn't even ask me what I was looking for. He walked us over to a tall, nearly $4,000 gravestone when I was looking for a smaller, flat gravemarker. I then told him this (didn't get a chance to at first as he just tried to sell us as soon as we got there) and then he walked me over to his flat stone. $2,000. I thought that was a very high price (did some research on typical prices beforehand) and said thank you. took his business card and he then tried to tell me his business was the best option, "did you see all of our google 5 star reviews??" he said. This makes me believe that all of these reviews could be fake, written by friends and family. That's all that I could think, given the sale only mentality he was giving off. I then went over to another' local monument company. same price (including lettering) is just over $1,200. Not to mention the experience was so much better at the competing monument company. When I walked into the business, my husband and I were sat down at a desk and handed a book with design ideas once they FIRST ASKED US what kind of stone we were looking for. Coming to Artistic Monument Company after my mothers recent passing, in such a sensitive time, we received minimal to no service. We were in and out in 2 minutes, tops. I would never recommend this...

I can't say enough about Artistic Monuments and their family approach! I found a true gem in the owner, Scotty. From the first phone call (after many to other companies who could care less) his warmth, compassion, kind words and assurances made me know immediately Artistic Monument Co was the right choice! This is more than a business for him. It was hard enough losing my mom, much less dealing with siblings. Everything was on delay due to Covid, but when I told Scotty my story, he actually drove to the cemetery and did the etching himself THE SAME DAY!! Who does that??? He took time out of his day, and personally drove to do this for me! When he called and surprised me today telling me he did this, along with a photo of the headstone, I cried! He told me he wanted to make my life easier with less pressure! He went out of his way for a complete stranger with one phone call. If that doesn't say it all!
