World Market — Attraction in Clinton Township

I purchased two cookie jars online because the store was out of stock. I was told I could have them shipped to the store for free but when ordering learned that World Market had suspended shipping for store pickup because of the holiday volume. So after paying for shipping to my home, I received two ceramic Mason jar cookie jars and an owl utensil jar. All had pin holes in the glaze, and one cookie jar had both bare spots and runs in the glaze, making it impossible to give as gifts. I was on the verge of buying a room sized rug, but after seeing the shoddy quality of the merchandise they shipped. To return the items, I would have return shipping deducted from my refund, so I am penalized for World Market's lousy quality control and shoddy...

Customer service with a poor attitude. They didn’t include all the items in my order so I come back and its like pulling teeth for two ugly mugs. I show them my order but thats not good enough, they make me find a very specific email that says the exact same thing. Not all communication is verbal and the person helping me seemed sexist, uninterested and gave me a ton of non verbal attitude. Eye rolls, smirks, not even apologizing for the mistake… I have had issues with WM recently at other stores and so I think after this interaction I am done with...

I’ve always liked this store and appreciate the unique selection and atmosphere. I’m giving five stars because, in the end, customer service helped resolve my issue.

That said, my return experience didn’t feel right. Even though I followed store policy and came prepared, I felt misunderstood and not treated with the level of trust or fairness I’ve come to expect.
