The Mary Surratt Museum does an amazing job of integrating the past to the present, and working to show the value of understanding our complicated history. The staff is absolutely amazing and so passionate about the work. They are knowledgeable, kind and fun to be around. The museum is well-kept with easy parking and very accessible. This is a must visit. The museum offers an amazing gift shop with a great selection of books. Thank you to the entire team for making our visit Wonderful! Nina Spinelli.

What a great place to trace John Wilkes Booth and David Herold's escape route. Thanks to the terrific guide, I think her name was Lynn, you are transported back in time. A thorough tour of the house, information on the Surratt family as well as the time Booth spent here. Very inexpensive for the quality of the content given. Adult admission is five dollars. I would recommend anyone interested in American history to visit.

What a great place to trace John Wilkes Booth and David Herold's escape route. Thanks to the terrific guide, I think her name was Lynn, you are transported back in time. A thorough tour of the house, information on the Surratt family as well as the time Booth spent here. Very inexpensive for the quality of the content given. Adult admission is five dollars. I would recommend anyone interested in American history to visit.

Website stated they opened at 11a. Arrived at visitor center at 1120a, everything locked up tight. Sign stated to join tour in process at house. Not a soul at the house. Knocked more loudly at visitor center 1155a. This time someone answered and reluctantly agreed to let me in gift shop stating next tour not until 2p despite no tour taking place at 11a. Myself and another couple were there earlier looking for said in process, but nonexistent 11a tour. Wanted to make purchase in gift shop. Cash only accepted and no change. Purchased two pens with exact change. Not surprisingly, neither pen worked. Despite two employees, gift shop was a disorganized mess. This place needs to fire current management. Came from Hawaii looking forward to this site. Big...

The tour guide did an excellent job on our tour of the Surrat House. Not only did she cover Booth’s visit after Lincoln’s assassination, but she also discussed the role the home played in the local community as both a post office, and a lodging place for travelers. She included in her tour presentation a brief talk on the impact of Mary Surrat’s hanging in a society where no woman had previously been hung in the North. The guide also did a great job discussing the lives of the enslaved African Americans of the Surrat homestead, and talking about one previously enslaved woman who testified at Mary Surrat’s trial. The home is well furnished, and the guide also did an excellent job of highlighting the various home...

.People of the DMV and visitors to the DMV. The Surratts house is a must see.This was my second visit. The first visit was on a Saturday. The young woman guide was personable, knowledgeable, aware of all of us, and told the truth. The real history of Surrattes house. It was clear and evident that she has a passion for the truth of our country. She encouraged questions and answers all questions. My second visit was on Thursday Matthew, the manager is amazing.
