We decided to take our son to Cocoa Village for some window shopping and playtime at Riverfront Park. We hadn't had coffee yet and were heading to Ossorio when he asked to go into Carolyn Seiler Studios. My initial gut reaction was "I am not ready to handle taking my incredibly wild and clumsy 5 year old into a place filled with beautiful and breakable things." But we decided to take a chance and opened the door. Immediately my mom eyes started to look around at all the art on the walls and things waiting to be knocked over. My heart rate went up when my son spotted a desk in the center of the studio covered in paper and bins of sharpie markers and pipe cleaners which was set up in preparation for the art camp students arriving later that day. Of course he asked... "Can I make something?" I paused and before I could say no the owner and sweetest lady gave an enthusiastic "Yes!" For the next twenty minutes or so Carolyn patiently assisted while he asked to make his very own Forky and draw at the desk. She could have said no. She could have insisted that it was only for those signed up for the class. But instead she made not only his day but mine too. Going to shops and restaurants is something our neurodivergent family dreads. But every now and then we come across folks that make it totally worth it. Carolyn Seiler is one of those people. I have already put a reminder in my phone so I can see about signing my son up for the next Art Camp. This is a lovely studio with a lovely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy son started to attend Carolyn's Studio 3 years ago when he was 6. We are grateful to have such a fantastic teacher in our life. Not only she is just a wonderful person, she is also a gifted artist and a very talented teacher. For these three years my son literally became an artist. First three years he attended her Saturday morning drawing classes and last year we were āpromotedā to watercolor. Every time after Carolyn's class during our 20 min drive home I listen my sonās story about his painting, because Carolyn is not only teaching her students how to draw, but she is also telling them a story about the subject. I think she could publish a book with her stories. Thanks to her he knows many interesting facts about the most fascinating places and animals on Earth. But the main thing that I appreciate the most ā is her love to our kids and the aspiration to share her...

Our favorite art pieces happened to be created by the artist standing right there at the register. My friend got a framed print and the artist wrote a note on the back and signed it. My friend had a tattoo of birds and lilies, and the artist had painted a work titled Birds and Lilies. It was instant friendship.
There were all kinds of styles of art here.
I highly recommend stopping in to browse. Youāll find rejuvenation and maybe your next...
