Bargain Box Furniture Store — Attraction in Cody

Don't let the name fool you, there is much more than furniture. Great finds with great prices...on some things. It's one of these stores where the price of something is contingent on the person pricing it. Some prices are great, some fair and some are "really?". I picked up an item that had a $10 and a $5 sticker on it. What would you think? Right, marked down to half off. At the register, this white haired lady with a need of a customer service class looked at the two stickers and said "how about I meet you half way $7.50?". I was like, um, no it has $5 on it. She said "well it also has a $10 sticker". I stood looking at her for several seconds debating how far I should take this. Do I ask her how much she paid for it at this donation only store? So I just said "I'll give you $5 for it". She replied, "if you don't take it, I'll just take the $5 sticker off and put it back on the shelf". I said, "I'll pass". I loved this place most of the staff was great has a great selection, cheap, and staff was helpful, even went out of their way to go get us what we needed at a different location, they helped us out a lot getting things for our new place . I thought it was a great place until the last time I was there, an old man was very rude, disrespectful, belittling and acted as if we were trying to steal things when we were right at the register handing the things to him to ring up. The only thing I can think that may have set him off is it was close to closing and we had quite a bit of stuff but that is no excuse for behaving in such a hateful and unprofessional manner..After I left, I came back in to trap the rest of our stuff only to discover him talking crap about us to another employee. This store has recently taken a major turn for the positive. The staff is kind and friendly. There is always a wide selection of things to find and that changes daily as the staff work hard in back to go through all the generous donations. If you are a Veteran make sure to show the staff at the cash register. They very graciously will honor you with a discount on regular priced items (no star items).
