I visited this location today after having been to the downtown location. Normally I don't feel super compelled to write reviews unless asked, but this visit necessitates one.
Overall, the visit was ok. I will give the waitress (Mindy, I believe) some benefit of the doubt because she was the only person working the bar/serving customers. When I arrived, she was standing with her back to the door, so I waited for a couple minutes, scanned the QR code they have posted at the door by the hostess stand, picked up a drink and food menu to look at...and after about 5 minutes of no acknowledgement decided to take a seat at one of the high-top tables. This caught her attention & I could tell she wasn't happy about this, which set the tone for the rest of my time at the restaurant. After a few terse interactions to take my drink and food order, she brought my food to the table and said, "Did you get silverware too?" I said no, there wasn't any on the table to which she responded, "That's what happens when you seat yourself, you don't get silverware." I gave her a side glance and told her I waited a while and no one helped me, so I wasn't sure if it was a seat yourself situation, and she then said she was "Joking and that she's busy because she's the only person working".
I will spare rehashing the rest of my time here, but the bottom line is I will probably not be returning. My recommendation to the management here (as well as the downtown location because this was my experience there as well) is to hire more staff so that your customers can be properly waited on. One person working the bar, hostess stand, and waitressing is not enough during the breakfast timeframe when you're a breakfast restaurant. My second recommendation for the waitress specifically, is that a simple apology goes a long way. Saying "I'm sorry you had to wait, but I'm the only person here & normally we want people to wait to be seated" would've gone so much further with me than the snarky response I received. You don't know me at all to joke with me in that manner (if it was truly a joke) and professionalism will win with customers more often than not. I still tipped her 20% even though the service was subpar because I know what it's like to work in the service industry and I'm not completely heartless, but there are improvements that can...
Read moreHigh price for small portions and minimum service. We did go on Mother's Day so we might be trying it another time. It was busy, the floor was gross, it was crowded and loud not a lot of good vibes around, the hostess and servers were stressing like they've never been this busy before, no one was smiling. We had to wait to be seated, got a notification that our table was ready, then we had to wait for the hostess because she was busy, then wait again to get the table cleaned. Our server took our order and we didn't get refills or get checked on until she came back with our food which took a while. The menu is limited and very simple breakfast dishes, husband got "The mess" which was hash browns, eggs and sausage he was definitely thinking the portion would be bigger. I got the breakfast street tacos which come with three they were nicely presented and the right amount of spice but also small. I think the worst part was that this was not very family friendly, apparently the whole restaurant only has two highchairs and no boosters, we didn't see any anywhere, you can imagine the crazy on Mother's Day. Having to keep a two year old sitting in a regular chair wasn't impossible for us thanks to our tablet but definitely not an option for everyone I wouldn't recommend it for families or big groups. 2 plates with 2 coffees, and a kids plate totalled almost $70 for breakfast food that we couldn't fully enjoy or even say...
Read moreWas doing some hardware shopping at Home Depot and saw the sign Burnt Toast. Loved the name and off I went to grab a quick bite. Such a wonderful surprise! I was greeted with a smile and a choice of where to sit. The menu was a interesting as it had the "usual" eggs and such from a breakfast place, but there was a huge selection of interesting new flavor combinations. We ordered a usual biscuits and gravy (I like it with easy over eggs and green chili added, they had no issue with my unique order) and then un-usual breakfast food "The Mess" (a curry based dish). The green chili is not "hot" to my pallet but was very flavorful, the eggs were cooked perfect and biscuits were dense and filling; great flavors! "The Mess" is AWESOME!! If you like curry you will find the yellow curry sauce incredible and the selection of avocados, peppers, hash browns and eggs made a completely filling meal. Our waitress was Dani O and she was informative, pleasant, conversational and paid attention to our coffee (excellent as well) cup levels. Overall she was the icing on the cake for an extraordinarily wonderful surprise stop. This will definitely be on the top of our breakfast\lunch...
