$40 off discount when you book through Booking.com on TikTok. I have stayed at the Marriott Columbia on Hampton Street manyany times over the years. Columbia is where I grew up and this has become one of my go-to spots whenever I’m back in town. This hotel sits in what I feel is one of the safest and most walkable parts of downtown. You can get to restaurants, bars, the State House, USC’s campus, and even make your way toward Colonial Life Arena without needing to drive. Being this close to many things makes the stay here a lot easier for anyone visiting. Checking in is simple . The front desk team has always been friendly and approachable. Every room I’ve had here has been clean, quiet, and comfortable. My platinum lease status is always acknowledged. Two bottles of water is in the room. The beds sleep well. The TV has streaming apps, and there’s a mini-fridge but no microwave. Parking is simple once you know the process. The garage is connected to the hotel through an indoor bridge, which helps if the weather is bad. After you park, make sure to tell the front desk so they can add the parking to your room and give you the key you need to exit the garage. If you forget to ask for that key, the garage charges you based on the ticket from the entrance. For anyone staying over on a Friday night, street parking needs a special warning. If you are there on a Friday night and park on Main Street, you must move your car before 4:00 AM on Saturday. Reason: The city closes off Main Street and starts setting up for the Saturday market event early. They will remove any cars still on the street. I had this happened to me a few years ago and it took me almost an hour to find my car. Afterwards, I learned that they usually move cars somewhere within walking distance. Sounds OK but you still have to go find it and there’s always a chance of damage from the tow. If you feel you could get up early enough and move your car try at your own wrist. There are signs everywhere telling you not to do that. To avoid the stress, I would skip street parking on Fridays altogether. Inside the hotel, the pool windows, overlook the lobby area. At night I felt that the rooms were quiet even though one side of the hotel faces Main Street. Because I’m from the area, I can say with confidence that this part of downtown stays active but has always felt safe, especially on weekends. Students, locals, travelers—and security seem to be visible throughout the area. There are so many public spaces that I feel that this hotel can work well for group stays and families. I’ve seen several group check-ins during my visits, and everything still seemed to moved smoothly. I didn’t notice any pets during my stay, so calling ahead would be the best option for that information. Overall, the Marriott Columbia on Main Street is a solid 10 out of 10 for me. Between the location, the consistent cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the convenience of being close to everything downtown, this is the place I choose whenever I need a place to stay when visiting family in the heart of Columbia #tiktokgotraveldeals #columbiasc #hotelreview #downtowncolumbia #ToniTheTourist

As a Wedding Planner, the weight is very heavy to ensure that your Bride and Groom have one of the best days of their lives, and that their financial investment be found worth it in the end. For me, it was even more challenging as my couple and I are located in a different State. So, unlike most planners, I wasn’t able to view the property before booking or hosting our event. I was nervous about this but the event exceeded all of my expectations. Maria Agro, Catering Sales Manager, partnered with me from day one. She reassured me often that she was committed to providing a wonderful experience and she kept her word—over and above! Even after the event was over, she made sure everything was wrapped up perfectly. Maria was patient during the planning stages and adjustments. She was proactive in providing solutions, and accommodated my team well. She was friendly, and well organized. The concessions she provided were well thought out and made me look great with my client. She also did special things to take care of ME as the planner, which is rare. For example, as the event kicked off, Maria stopped by with a bag of treats that my assistant and I could enjoy. This was thoughtful as most times, the planner goes all day without food. After the event, I made a 8-hour drive home, eating some of these treats along the way, and thinking about how truly thoughtful Maria was. The check-in process was very smooth, and I was delightfully surprised by this. The valet and front desk teams were friendly and eager to help! As you can imagine, as a planner arriving from a different state, I had so much equipment, and the team was helpful in assisting me with a heavy load-in and load-out. Special thanks to Franklin and Christian who were so helpful! I arrived a few days early and ate in the lobby restaurant. The service was friendly, and food was delicious each time. The staff remembered me and treated me so special. Maria even took note of my favorite item from your menu (the shrimp appetizer) and surprised me with it one day during my stay! Everything she did was over and above. The level of care, service, and accommodation was superior. She proactively anticipated every single need. The day of our event, Maria was by my side literally the entire time. Everyone on the team played such an integral role in the success of the event. We started about 30 mins late and the entire team was so kind and willing to adjust. Special thanks to: Alana, Caesar, Denise, Shannon, Brian, Steven, Toni, Shanna, Shy, Chandler, Stephanie and all of the Culinary and Banquet Teams. The event was smooth, and met every expectation. From the delicious food (the Salmon was so so good!), the specialty cocktail—which was a huge hit, the service, even setting the room up in advance which allowed my team to come in quickly and do our part. The entire experience was excellent. I’ve never experienced this level of partnership from a hotel venue, ever. Maria is a GEM! She represents the brand very well and I left feeling like I made a friend for life. I apologize for anyone I missed in my review. The entire team was fantastic, and cohesive. I can’t wait to visit again soon. Many Thanks!

BY FAR THE WORST HOTEL STAFF in all my years of being a bon voyage member at Marriott hotels, I have never experienced the type of disrespect disregard for human safety and well-being and utter Lack of compassion for a human in my entire life I was in a car accident in Orangeburg South Carolina, due to the winter ice storm had to spend $250 on cabs just to get to this hotel cause there were no Ubers in Orange burg upon arriving I realize that I left my ID inside the car wreck. I was told I was unable to check in without a physical ID ..fine not a problem so I decided to call some family in a nearby town to pick me up . while waiting for my ride in the lobby of the hotel, the manager followed me to the sitting area where I was quietly waiting and scrolling thou business email he approached me and told me I had to leave immediately even though it was 24° outside snow and ice and I had just got into a car crash. He cared night and told me that if I did not leave immediately, he would call the police after letting him know my situation and saying that I am waiting for my ride. They should be here in a matter of 15 minutes. I asked can I please just wait inside it’s snowing ❄️ and ice on the ground (24* degrees) He told me that I need to stand outside in the cold i had no jacket because i left items in the wrecked car I have never felt so embarrassed and ashamed in my life I travel the world, and I only stay at Marriott and Hilton Hotels after today’s experience I will never go to this location again, the other disrespect for human life is disgraceful disgusting and classless. I’m not sure who the manager was but if you read this review, he knows exactly who I am I feel like this location needs to adjust employe expectations when it comes to providing customer service and ,a welcoming Marriott world-class experience. in this review, I have left pictures and video of some my world travels and just 1 of my many beauty supply stores (I own 3) and my own cosmetic line ,because I was treated like less than a human while being at this location. After being treated like a common criminal, I want it to be clear that I do not need anything nor want anything from this establishment outside of excellence in serving the customer I am already a successful business owner. This manager took 1 look at me a racial profiles me the only brown person in the room full of ppl . 😒 than acting like I was a crack head trying steal or sneak in the hotel like it’s a Marriott not the Ritz Carlton or...

Very poor service. Many employees in this location do not provide the traditional level of service that I have experienced at other Marriotts and have come to expect from the Marriott brand. I actually worked at a Marriott years ago and had been taught we were to do everything possible to “delight” the customer. We checked in on a Saturday evening with Marriott points. They said we needed to provide a card for incidentals. We had $6 in incidentals. We used an account, and they did not tell us they were charging us $50 for incidentals because we provided a debit card. I called to inform them that they had charged us $50, and they continued to insist we were not charged, but that it was just a hold, and they argued with me for 20 minutes telling me that I was not charged. After my insistence they transferred me to someone else. Finally, they stated that in fact we had been charged, but they insisted they can do nothing for a week to refund the money we did NOT spend. I would not have had an issue had they informed me to begin with. But they did not. This hotel’s employees that I spoke with were extremely rude, classless and insisted they can do nothing, which of course they can, but don’t want to because it is not consistent with their process. The restaurant’s servers were not attentive while very few people were even in the restaurant. They did not smile or show graciousness but instead acted as if they were being burdened with our order. Most of the employees at this location need a serious attitude adjustment. Ironically, the man who checked us in and didn’t inform us of the inevitable charge did NOT have a bad attitude, and was actually gracious, though that was a lapse on his part. I have two brothers who practically live at the Marriott and have the highest status you can have with them. One of them had gifted us with a room using points. I cannot believe we were treated like this with absolute indifference and hostility. Now I have to continue to watch my account until they put this money back that we did NOT spend. What a huge pain! Never have experienced an actual charge for incidentals when there were none and then waited such a long time to have it refunded when the charge was never approved by us, we were just informed afterwards. Totally unacceptable. Stay clear of this Marriott if it is the Marriott caliber of service you expect. Better off at...
