I’ve never written a review before but I promised Amir that I would just because I’m very happy with my experience. I had called other tech repair stores in Columbia before being referred to K Computers, and they were all either too far, charge way over $300, or they say it would take them a week or so to repair. Since I’m a student who uses my macbook for important class notes and can’t afford any deals out of my budget, I was looking for an asap and reasonably priced offer.
Amir helped replace my cracked macbook screen in about 48 hours for $300 even, including student discount. The entire process of calling in the issue, establishing repair price and time, and picking up was very quick and easy.
Also, when I went to pick up my repaired macbook and said I wanted to peel and transfer some of my sentimental stickers from my old cover to the new one, he kindly offered a quick trick to help me by blowing this heat gun to make the stickers easier to peel off.
Amir is a patient, funny, and observant Iranian man with many other reasonable deals on other Apple products and repairs that he sells in the store. I recommend stopping here for your repairs, especially if you’re a college student, and I’d definitely come back if I have any more...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience with this repair technician. He told me that to replace a single key on my laptop, he would need to take the entire laptop apart because it was supposedly damaged — and quoted me $140 for the repair. I decided to get a second opinion, and another technician was able to fix the key in under five minutes with no disassembly and confirmed there was no damage to the keyboard.
Additionally, I had paid $75 for a touchpad repair that was never properly fixed. When I went back, he suggested that I should replace my laptop entirely and trade it in for one from his shop. This felt like a clear attempt to upsell rather than actually resolve the issue.
I would not recommend going to him for repairs. His prices are unreasonably high, and he tries to convince customers to replace perfectly good laptops for...
Read moreI was in Columbia for the South Carolina Bar Convention and on day one, my long-time old faithful laptop began making a loud whirring noise and completely shut down. Of course this happened during evening rush hour, and I had to quickly find a downtown business to assist me. After a call with the owner to make sure they were open, I rushed down to grab a replacement laptop, and he went above and beyond to make sure that I had everything I needed to quickly get back to the convention! On top of that, the price for my used replacement was reasonable and I am pleased to report that in the months since my purchase, I have had zero issues with the laptop's performance. I absolutely recommend this business for any of your Columbia based computer/laptop needs and cannot say enough great things about them....
