I have been a regular customer to this store for years. Approximately a month ago I had tried to purchase two specialized bulbs for a fixture. They did not have the bulbs in stock and referred me to the Lewis Center store, where I ultimately purchased the bulbs. I discovered after the purchase that the fixture needed to be replaced, and I had no need for the bulbs, never used or removed from the box.
I went to the Clintonville store a few days ago with the bulbs and receipt. The salesman was willing to accept the return until he saw the receipt and stated they had a two week return policy which I had exceeded. I asked if they could make an exception, under the circumstances, and he refused, stated emphatically that I would have been told that at time of purchase, which I do not remember, and then pointed out the policy in writing on the receipt, which was in minuscule font and hardly saliently placed. He interrupted me as I asked if I could return for credit and interrupted me several other times. Told me he could do nothing, and I could speak to a manager in a few days. Eventually he suggested I could go to the Lewis Center store and talk to the sales person there, said he was in.
I went to Lewis Center. As I asked about the return, a salesmen said he remembered my purchase and offered that I could return them despite the two week return window being over. He said it made sense to make the exception, as the bulbs were unused and in the packages, and I had no use for them. I reported my experience in the other store, and he apologized.
I shop retail for a reason. I like to consult with humans, see the product, be subject to flexible, reasonable treatment for a purchase that turns out to be mistake or unnecessary. It’s called CUSTOMER SERVICE! The person who attended my concern in the Clintonville store was superficially correct but penny wise and pound foolish in judgment, superciliously rude to me.
Driving to Lewis Center next time, although Clintonville is much...
Read moreTERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! SOMETHING HAS CHANGED HERE. DON'T BUY THEIR LIFETIME WATCH BATTERY REPLACEMENT. A couple of years or so ago, I purchased the lifetime battery replacement option. I've also had phone screen replacement at this location. I've always been satisfied as Ive brought my watches in a few times. Apparently, my phone number was input incorrectly so each time I've been in, they ask me if it's under another number and I politely have said no while also stating politely that I thought that had been fixed. It has never been an issue until today. Once again, i was asked if it could be under another number and I replied no, I thought that had been fixed. He was still able to find my name so no big deal. He then proceeds to tell me that my watch didn't match the model number and he could see some sort of override on my account each time I had been in. I told him that I don't have another watch and he basically insinuated that I was a liar. I went on to explain that it was the only Fossil watch I own amd it had been changed multiple times. He then asked if I wanted to pay for the battery to which I agreed to do but I was frustrated becauae it IS THE SAME WATCH THAT HAS BEEN REPLACED EVER SINCE PURCHASING the lifetime battery option. He proceeded to then take the battery out after all of this which really aggravated me after paying for lifetime replacement AND agreeing to pay for the battery! He refused to give district manager information and seemed to revel in agitating me any way he could. He took the battery out that I agreed to pay for since I had driven from the opposite end of town. I will be reporting to the BBB and Attorney General's office in the state of Ohio. This guy was looking to make someone's life difficult from the time I came in no matter how polite I was. Stay away...
Read moreI will never go back in the store again The biggest mistake I have ever made in my life was walking in this store. I do not like disrespectful people. I was so angry. there was an employee who was extremely rude. Very disrespectful. I had just left the barber shop and realized there was a store right across the street, so I went inside. I did not have the battery. I thought maybe they have experienced someone coming in there at one time looking for a battery for a ring monitor, so I took a chance. The employee seems like he was dealing with some type of anger management issues he said to me I can’t help you if you don’t know what you’re looking for and walked away did not give me a chance to get the information. That’s when I decided to call my wife so I could get the batteries information.. It was that easy and simple, but he was such a jerk and rude. I just had to get those batteries and get out of the store I was so embarrassed. I was so angry. I wanted to confront that employee about his rude ways., I will never step foot that store again. I will continue to use Amazon and find other resources. This store sucks. Who needs this store if you have other resources, especially if you have to put up with someone like that. With all of the resources in the world today, There is no reason you would ever have to step in that store. We do it because you’re local and we love to support our local businesses but as for now I’m done and I will never step back in the store again....
