Rocket Fizz Columbus, GA — Attraction in Columbus

Rocket Fizz is an amazing place to go for not only nostalgia but also for a fun loving atmosphere. The employees are incredibly helpful and friendly.

As you walk inside, you're hit with a wave of cool air and the odor of sweet treats located in the open trays on the left. These comprise candies you use to fill sweet mixed bags. Don't know what something is? Taste test it!! It's allowed, don't worry. On your right is everything from gummy candies, to crazy sodas, and heaven forbid if you're a sign fanatic! The tongue in cheek humor abounds with these wonderful signs all over the upper parts of the walls. These are all for sale too!

The shelves in the center of this elongated space have some very cool themes. There's a shelf for Asian treats (come all you Ramune lovers), a European candy stop, and some niche type candy like giant gummies and the crazy cat lady, Lol!

My personal favorites are the candy cigarettes (oh my that takes me back!) And all the super fun sodas! Bring the family, it's fun...

Let me just start first off by saying that anyone that knows me personally knows that I am a people person that's easy to get along with regardless of race, gender, religious background, etc. My wife and I looked up this place and saw that they sold some stuff that we like so we visited and were amazed by the variety but weren't greeted by anyone and two staff members turned their noses up at me and my family(we're black) and greeted everyone else that came in and said welcome to our store how can we help you. The funny thing is we were actually going to buy stuff in the store and the people that they greeted didn't purchase anything. Blatant racism is inexcusable and I don't tolerate it I'll spend my money elsewhere this is...

Update 2/28/22: I stand by my statement. Read further and you will see they also didn't greet another black patron. Instead of writing a book to me, check yourself and how you interact with anyone that comes into your establishment.

If you're not white, you're not welcome at this store. I walked in, no greeting and no assistance as I searched for a particular candy. The 2 employees were solely focused on helping the white guy. Furthermore, I almost tripped on all the junk boxes they had sprawled out on the floor. I will ensure to spread the word to all my family and friends of different races to not support...
