Believe ALL they hype for Me Encanta (New Mexican restaurant off Broadway) I love how spacious, colorful and modern it looks inside. The salsa was not spicy and tasted fresh. The food is considered upscale Mexican but you can find all your typical favorites like burritos, tacos, quesadillas. Today my mom ordered the tostones (fried plaintains) with pork belly as the protein. She opted to have all the toppings on the side. The guacamole portion was huge and the queso fresco was delicious! And every Latino knows that where there’s plátanos there’s mayo-ketchup! The pork belly was a generous portion and I especially appreciated that it was more of the meat side than the hard skin side of pork belly. If all of it tasted good separately I can only imagine how it would taste in one bite! I can definitely see this as a crowd pleaser! I ordered the grilled chicken. It came with sautéed veggies, rice and beans. Idk what they seasoned the chicken and veggies with… but I wanted to lick the plate! I will definitely be back for this! For dessert I ordered chocoflan, perfect mix of chocolate cake on top of a flan bottom. I know it sounds like a weird mix, but it’s super satisfying to have the chocolate and caramel in one bite! My mom ordered churro carrito ($17) but definitely worth it! I suggest you share this because it was too much for us. You could choose to eat your fried churro by itself, eat it with the vanilla Ice cream, or top it off (or dunk it) with one of the three sauces: a sweet fruit like jelly, melted chocolate, or my personal favorite: the sweet, thick, condensed milk that transports me right back to my childhood. And can we just get a round of applause for the plate presentation for the dessert!? Well done Me Encanta! I’ll def be back! This is not a paid review; I...

This time I came solo and got a seat at the bar on a weekend evening with no wait. I had the TX Margarita and the Cali burrito. The drink was fantastic and the burrito came out so fast I thought they had the wrong person. It was yummy and over stuffed. I loved the cheese sauce I could dump on the burrito. Popped in some earbuds and watched a show because the place is still loud. Not bad for $23 before tax and tip. We came in for a Saturday night meal and were greeted to a 45 minute wait. I tried calling in the day before to see if they take reservations and they don't.
The food was really good and I was happy to see Negra Modelo on tap! The provided salsa was really tasty. We got the appetizer with the guac, corn salsa, and cheese dip which was fantastic. The margaritas were both good. Overall, the pricing was fair to a little less than I was expecting.
The acoustics are horrible. It is SO LOUD. Absolutely zero thoughts were given during the construction of the interior space to the attenuation of the noise a restaurant can generate. It is so disappointing too because this seems like a clean sheet build. They could have addressed acoustics but decided not to.
Then you add in the loud music they are playing over their speakers and it is just too loud for a casual restaurant. I had a hard time conversing with my friends. It really sucked. Yeah I know if it's too loud you're too old but it was just plain annoying. I came to enjoy a meal with friends and catch up with them and I had a hard time doing that.
I won't return here because of this. Maybe during a slow period but never again on...
Read morei came into the restaurant wednesday night with a group of people. the food was ok, the tinga quesadilla was soggy, the chicken in the chicken bowl was dry, the fajitas were interesting. i will say the tortillas given with the fajitas were so so good. speaking of tortillas, there was a situation when my friend ordered street tacos and she was given hard shell tacos. we were pretty confused on why hard shells were given out at a restaurant to begin with, however, we were more confused on why the server did not ask her which tortillas she would like? so my friend asked her for soft tortillas instead but it sounded like she had asked for tortillas in addition to the tacos instead of replacing the tortillas entirely. i clarified to the server that she meant she wanted tacos with soft tortillas instead of hard shells. our server, joana, then immediately got defensive and said “she already put the order in.” i told her i was just trying to clarify and i smiled at her to let her know we weren’t mad. she still continued to get defensive and said “ok and im just telling you.” we were all kind of confused why she was defending these tortillas with her life. i hope she was just having a bad day and doesn’t treat all her customers like that. everyone else was...
