I wanted to like this place, I truly did.. but I just can't justify the cost for the quality of the product, and a counter style restaurant that isn't full service. (Even though I tipped as such, because the girl at the register was very nice.) First, the positive: Service was very friendly, and food came out in timely manner. The outside seating is shaded, and the overall vibe of the place is good. The food however, was not great, and is incredibly over-priced for the portions and quality. We ordered 2 average sized buffalo sandwiches, one as a combo which came with a small handful of tots, the other as a sandwich with no side My husband and son said it was "ok" barely having any buffalo sauce, and tasted like a typical Wendy's sandwich. Not necessarily bad, but nothing that anyone raved about or would return for. My son ordered the quesadillas, again, nothing outstanding about it, but for the $5.99 at least they were priced accordingly. I personally had the chicken salad and pimento cheese.. with the chicken salad being runny and very relished up, came with soup crackers in wrappers. Add 1 small mason jar root beer float for $9+ dollars, and another $2.50 for the souvenir cup. (The cup upcharge was very reasonable, but for this price I expect more presentation than icecream in a mason jar and a root beer in a bottle you pour in as you go.) Another regular 16 oz chocolate shake for $7+, plus souvenir cup upcharge. The shakes were fine, per the kids, so maybe this should be a quick snack only destination. $63 dollars for a fast-food lunch for 3 adults and 1 child, before tip with only 2 of the meals even having a side. (We also had 2 small fountain drinks.) Overall, the concept here is great, but the food quality is definitely lacking and the pricing on some of it outrageous. I'm hoping this was just an off day, because I cannot understand all the rave reviews, and I'm not some foodie snoot. It takes a lot for me to not want to support a local business, but I feel very cheated...
Read moreI ordered the smallest size of the Sally specialty shake. The strawberry milkshake itself was okay at best. The toppings were yummy. Personally, I wouldn't order it again. This isn't their most popular flavor, so my best guess is that other menu items are much better than this one. Forgot to take a picture of the milkshake, but other reviewers have shared pictures which accurately represent their menu items. I will most likely come back and try a more popular flavor to see if the hype is correct.
Usually, a subpar flavor would warrant a 4 star review at the worst, but what happened after ordering is why I gave this place 3 stars. It took us about 15 minutes to get through the ordering line which was expected. After my order of 1 small milkshake, 9ish groups that ordered after me received their order before me. I was the last person to receive an order for the day (from what I could tell) which took over 40 minutes (rough estimate). This would be more understandable had we not approached them twice or seen them hand out around 13 other shakes and food that were ordered after us.
We would have left 35ish minutes into the wait or rather 50 minutes including the ordering line, but my small shake was about $14 + a tip (which I regret). Pretty much a large amount of those who ordered after me had finished and left by the time I got my shake. To make things worse, the staff deliver shakes to your table and could see when handing out other orders that I hadn't received anything for the 40ish minutes. This made it awkward for us because we didn't want to be pushy, but it was more than obvious I still didn't have my order and everyone was beginning to leave because they were closing/closed.
EDIT: We didn't want to make a big deal, so we didn't ask to speak with a manager. After writing this review and realizing how ridiculous this ordeal was for a single shake, we should have spoken up for a THIRD time and asked for a manager or just left since the...
Read moreI frequent the Crawford location, so I decided to give the Broadway location a try. Absolutely horrible customer service! It started when I asked what bread options came with the chicken salad sandwich. I was told they didn’t have bread. So, you’re out of that item? No, you can have it on Texas toast. I’m sorry I don’t want Texas toast. After several eye rolls and smart remarks from the cashier, I was given the option of white, croissant or Texas toast. I was floored by the sarcasm and lack of customer service from this cashier. Is this location not owned by the same owner as the Crawford location? I love the folks there, but recently purchased a condo Uptown. It’s not realistic to drive all the way to Crawford for a chicken salad sandwich, so I’ve been exploring the restaurants near me. I understand that sometimes people have bad days, but that is not a reason to disrespect others. She chose to work at a job dealing with direct customer contact, try a little harder to make sure that the customer has an enjoyable experience. Uptown Columbus is not Crawford, there are plenty of other places to get a sandwich. I was just trying to go to a place that I was familiar with, but I now know that the service is not the same at this location. This occurred around 5:00 on September 17th. If this was a unique experience based on the interaction with one employee, I would suggest training that employee before other people find a new place to...
