The Butcher Shop Fitness - German Village — Attraction in Columbus

After being an endurance runner for many years, (think: running marathons), I wanted to do a change of pace to build up muscle, particularly after Covid where I lost a lot due to work being busy and not running as much. I’ve been an unlimited member ever since taking my first class in April 2021. I was sold and immediately signed up for the unlimited membership after my two week trial. Improvements in my strength, my mental endurance returning, and I finally have abs!! I never had strong abs, even when running 90-mile weeks and being competitively fast. I encourage anyone who is looking for whole body workout, a supportive community, and a healthy challenge with accountability: try The Butcher Shop!!! I have been so impressed by this small business, run by women, who truly care about their clients. All the Butcher instructors are gracious, encouraging, and challenge you to grow stronger. One of their mottos is, “It doesn’t get easier, you get stronger,” which is so true. The workouts adapt with your improving strength. And the stronger you get, it almost gets harder because your form is better. Side plus: they are VERY perinatal friendly!! They have modification cards for all four segments of pregnancy and all the instructors work with your specific pregnancy/body on modifications. Huge!! And the same care goes into their modifications for injury or just starting out. The only standard you are held to is yourself. How empowering.

Wow - I love this place! I have had somewhat of a fitness glow-up over the course of the last 2+ years and every day that I take a class, I am reminded of why I started that journey. I took my first class at the Butcher Shop (GV) in June and haven't looked back since. I was very nervous to start taking classes, but a friend who got me interested in Lagree said that I would really love it. I made a personal goal to focus on my arms, abs & a** (lol) this year and I can confidently state that the Butcher Shop has been the #1 supporter of this goal. I have told friends and others who ask me about Lagree that this workout has made me feel so STRONG and made me feel my best. I would never have used "strong" to describe myself in the past, but I definitely do now. Aside from the killer workouts, the staff is sooo great. The instructors I consistently see are all very personable and don't seem to mind that I'm always chatting them up both before and after class. I look forward to every single class I take and any week that I am unable to get to the studio for my usual class load, best believe I am bummed about it. haha I live near GV, so I haven't had the chance to go to the Open-Air studio but hope to get...

I can’t speak more highly of this place. The instructors are fun, upbeat, and all have an individual teaching style. The instructors are very aware of form to ensure injury prevention and proper targeting of muscle groups, helping push class participants to receive the full benefits of the class. The workout targets multiple muscle groups and allows you to work muscles that can be more difficult to target. I have been doing lagree for over five years and the workout never gets easy and does not allow you to plateau. It is a naturally low impact workout that’s great for many different fitness levels and ages. Modifications or challenges are offered for all the moves to accommodate everyone’s needs.
