This store is great! The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. When I was checking out, someone actually called to see if DAV had a coffee grinder. Seriously!? I expected the staff to explain the definition of a thrift store to this caller but instead they acted as if this were a major department store with the ability to look it up in their computer systems inventory and tell you how many and how much in 2 seconds flat. The DAV staff actually went to check the shelves. Now that is customer service!!!
This location consistantly has wonderful finds at fantastic prices. I have visited many thrift stores in various states over the years and this location is in my top 3 all time favorites. I enjoy visiting the shop. They always take care to wrap breakable items, like the young man did for me today.
They are nicely organized and it is rare that a item is not price marked. Also, unlike some places they do a great job making sure everything is in good shape. The store may look old but it is clean. They also have carts which is really handy when you are buying fragile items or a lot of items as most people do.
The store carries everything from clothing and accessories for men, women and children as well as furniture, houseware, seasonal home decor, some sports equipment and electronics. Oh, and lots of booksš
My favorite find over the years at this store has been the priviledge of meeting some of our brave men and women as they work and shop there. Thank you!
Happy treasure...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came from out of state to visit family and stopped in. There were 2 items I was thrilled to find and I was there 15-20 minutes before they opened. There was someone else looking at the items as well. I set them by my vehicle and took the tags off so I could go inside immediately and pay for them when they opened their doors. Being on a very fixed income I was over the moon that I would be able to afford to get what I have been needing! As soon as an employee showed up I told her what I had done and she raised her voice at me and told me Iām a thief and I was stealing. That the items shouldnāt have been moved until I paid. She humiliated me infront of my mom and cousin and when I apologized and reiterated that I was waiting by the door so that I could pay she reiterated that I am a thief and Iām lucky she wasnāt going to prosecute me today. I was utterly humiliated as I held back tears. I apologized repeatedly and she scoffed at me at shut the door and locked it. I put the items back with the tags and left. I held back tears because I didnāt want to embarrass myself further. I am a daughter of a veteran and I was a wife of a veteran for almost 16 years. Even though I will be back to the area to visit family and we love thrift store shopping together, I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here one time several months ago and would not recommend and wonāt be back. They do have a lot of clothes to offer but they have permanently closed down their dressing rooms. Itās no longer the Covid pandemic. I understand a lot of thrift stores are deciding to do that because unfortunately people are stealing things. What gets me is their return policy. They only allow 30 returns and they donāt give you a refund but instead they give you store credit. If it was a different kind of store that always has things stocked and I shopped there regularly it would be fine but when it comes to a thrift store you never know if you will be able to find something. I would be out that money. So after taking my time and filling my cart up with clothes only to discover that by a rude employee, I put the clothes back and left. Itās unfortunate because I love thrift stores and have shopped at another DAV location before and hadnāt had a problem there and I appreciate service members and now they will be getting less money to...
