I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Gold Gym's customer service, and I must say, it was absolutely abysmal. I have been a loyal member for several years, but after this incident, I am seriously considering canceling my membership.
Firstly, the staff at the front desk seemed completely disinterested in assisting me. They were unhelpful, and lacked basic knowledge about the gym's policies and procedures. It was evident that they were more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to the needs of the customers.
Moreover, when I approached a staff member to inquire about a billing issue, they displayed a shocking lack of professionalism. Instead of addressing my concerns, they brushed me off with a dismissive attitude, making me feel like my concerns were insignificant. It was clear that they had no intention of resolving the issue or providing any sort of satisfactory solution.
To make matters worse, when I tried to escalate the matter to a manager, I was met with further disappointment. The manager was nowhere to be found, and the staff seemed clueless about their whereabouts. It was as if they were intentionally avoiding any responsibility or accountability for their poor service.
I find it utterly unacceptable that a gym of Gold Gym's reputation would allow such subpar customer service to persist. As a paying member, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, which was clearly lacking during my interaction with their staff.
In conclusion, I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before joining Gold Gym. Their customer service is shockingly inadequate, and it is evident that they prioritize profit over the satisfaction of their members. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment by seeking out a gym that values its customers and provides the level of service they deserve.
P.S Beware of their ABC charges a.k.a third party they will never give you a credit for all the...
Read moreI’ve been working out 3 days a week at Golds Destin for about 11 years now and have always enjoyed workouts as well as interacting with a friendly staff and management. Now the downside. Not sure if it’s due to a change of culture with our younger one’s coming up or what is now considered acceptable but it seems as though there’s very little attention paid to gym etiquette. Most of the machines weights aren’t unloaded and if they are they’re thrown on the floor or put in the wrong place. Same for the dumbbells. Feels like I’m at a kindergarten picking up after children and I know that it must be frustrating for you all. In the past we had signs up to try and deter this but it seems like we’ve given up. Not sure what the answer is but I think we either have try to educate them as to what is and is not acceptable or have the staff spend more time picking up after them. Maybe keeping an eye out for those leaving a machine loaded and asking them if they’re through. Maybe if staff knows they must put everything in order before they complete their shift it will incentivize them to encourage members to pay closer attention. And last but not at all least. I spent about 2 hours in the gym this afternoon and there was nothing but rap coming from the speakers. Totally unacceptable...
Read moreBEWARE OF THEIR SCAM! My husband went in the gym to cancel his membership before we moved away from Destin and they convinced him to "freeze" his account, claiming that he could restart it at any time without having to pay the introductory fees. A couple months later we noticed they somehow billed our credit card for the membership. Our credit card had even been changed due to fraudulent activity on our account and they charged an extra fee for having to resubmit claims-over $100 for a membership and fees for something we didn't use or request to restart from the so called "freeze" which he had actually tried to cancel initially!! We tried to call them and see if they could help us with this, but they claimed that it was our problem and held no accountability. I have now seen other reviews from other people who they have dealt this same scam to. I rarely write reviews, but I felt the need to warn people of this, so that hopefully others do not fall prey to this scam. Tourists beware as there are other local scam artists that are well practiced in screwing people over. I learned this from living on the Gulf coast 3 years.
Also the gym equipment is old and crammed in there and is usually overcrowded causing you to wait for machines multiple times...
