Be cautious if you are planning to sell the book.. Count all the books before and after.
After checking on line to sell the book (Medical College books), my wife thought to check with HPB as it should be more ethical and better as per reviews. I went their yesterday evening with 2 boxes of books (around 16) and Mr James took my name and asked me to wait for him to call my name. I waited in the store for almost 15 mins. after that he said they can give $72 for all the books. i said it is too low for medical books and the number given online was 5 times more. i said i will take the books back. he had 2 boxes ready and he said no problem. i put the box in my car and left. today morning we decided to go back with the online deal. When we put the book in another box as per previous list there was one book missing. Ironically the book missing is the most expensive book in all. i called the HPB around 10 am. Mr james answered and said he will check. after 45 mins I called back and he said " HE GAVE all the books back" but he will still check. again called back after one hour and he could not find it" I wished him Good luck with business and ethical values
Just be cautious if you are selling and count all the books specially if it...
Read moreI was so excited to find out that this half Price books was still, after I'm so convinced that they have shut down everywhere since the ones all it was in the loop have been closed down permanently. This one was still like how I remembered half Price books to be, but amazing selection with amazing workers and a curation a very unique and eclectic items as well. This store is very functional and its layout, big nice wide isles and plenty of spaces for you to check out that book you just picked up the shelf to see if it's your new read. I Love how recommendations and pretty much every single aisle including every category of books that you could read. Definitely give it a shot, worth of travel at to get here and shop at a half price books. Only rating at four stars though because selling your stuff back to them it really feels like a rip-off. I had five PS4 games, a bunch of blu-rays that were in special edition casein, and I only received a measly fifty bucks for it. Spent well over $500 on the entire collection, which I know and get that it's used but still. So, go there to shop but definitely wouldn't recommend selling...
Read moreAn alltime favorite for the avid readers in my family and if you've never been, you really need to. To see the volume and selection is always a pleasant surprise not to mention the pricing. Along with hardback and paperback used books they have everything from slquite a few new books, gifts like stationary, puzzles, calendars, vinyl albums (yep), games etc. They have a variety of so many items and books, of course that you can spend hrs in there if you let yourself. They take trade ins to count toward your purchases or can keep on file for later use. I have to go to the one in Pearland because my town unfortunately, now no longer has a single bookstore but it's worth the trip! The store was well organized, plenty of browsing room and the staff was very friendly and polite. The parking lot is huge with Accessible Parking for wheelchairs as is the store...
