Merrimac Rentals — Attraction in Upper Grand Lagoon

I just got off the phone with cindy, which runs merri-mac in Panama city beach fl. This woman I have known for around 18 years & has never said one ugle commit to me nor my family & friends ever. I thought she was going to have a heart attack before trying to talk her down! Being I live in Georgia it was hard to be there for someone that I have seen go so far out of their way to make someone enjoy their vacation by phone but I tried my best. Ive seen her give up her own ownhome for people to stay & enjoy their vacation.peoplewho only know 1 side of the story should never commit on things they know nothing about!!! If you don't like it go somewhere else & let the ones who love the people & the place stay! They have put their lives into this place. I know if you speak to Cindy with sense then she will do anything to help you! The night the lights went out was because of a wreck, if you don't call someone to let them know then how do u think it's going to be fixed! Alot of people who manage condos have their own home at night, read your paper work! Your not children! we have stayed every time we could there from the 1st hurricane hit in the 60's when it was a small motel till what they've made it into now wonderful condos. Don Nutter bought it from an elder couple that all they asked was the name stay the same which his name was mack & hers was merry & that's what it still is! We lost a beautiful soul a couple years back who always greeted everyone wit a smile, loved planting &playing golf! Their was never a day that he didn't greet you with a smile& ask hows your daywas!He & my dad was close friends all his life! Cindy found a aid in the paper 1 morning while living in Atlanta ga for help! She loaded her car with everything she had & off to pcbf she went! That was in the 90s, she & Don where like brother & sister & the rest is history! They made this small little place what it is today! It was so hard to go back after losing Don but I knew there was another VERY SPECIAL person I had to make sure she was making it! So with a very heavy heart, I went back &the smile I saw made it all worth it! SO before you give this wonderful women another bad review, think about she has been through hell & back & everyone needs just a smile & some words of encouragement every now & then! If I had the choice of not giving a star at all I would't have. The women of my family have taken multiple trips to the Bel Air condo where I believe we have stayed a total of 4 years in a row. This year we tried to go back and unfortunately the condo is managed by Merrimac rentals instead of Southern Vacation Rentals like it used to be. You call Merrmiac rentals and noone ever answers, literally you ALWAYS leave a message, it appears this rental company has one employee being Cindy. These messages are never returned. Then I emailed Cindy. Cindy emailed me back and I thought we had the rental all set up, she gave us a quote and everything was going great up until my Aunt was actually ready to make payment. My aunt then tried multiple times via phone and email to get a hold of Cindy and Cindy refused to return her phone calls or emails. She also refused to email or call me back. I apologized in an email stating I was unsure if I was being to pushy, etc, still no call back or email. We are unsure if she gave us an incorrect quote or if she gave us incorrect information and was too embarrassed just to inform us or what. We are awesome to work, very down to earth, and simply wanted to spend time with one another in our favorite place that we found at Bel Air condo on Panama City beach. This place is perfect for our family because some of the women have a harder time getting out to the beach due to health issues and the beach is right there to walk out to or rent the special beach wheelchairs. It also has an elevator to get them to the floor so they don't have to take stairs. Bottom line my family is now unable to go on their trip this year to Panama City because everyone is so frustrated with this experience. We thought it was a done deal so 10 women scheduled their vacations for late Sept off of work and now Cindy can not take the time to even let us know if we have the trip. We would have been fine with a simple " I am sorry the place is booked" or even just an answer of some sort would have been sufficient. Did I add that other women of my family emailed with their married names making them different than of mine or my Aunts and she responded to their emails giving them quotes as well. But then stopped being in touch with them once she realized they wanted the same rental at that same time. Good luck if you choose this rental company. I wish you all...

Wow. Words cannot Express our experience. Have been staying at Largo Mar for 30+ years. Decided to stay at Windsong this year and change it up a bit. Booked the unit 7+ months in advance and was informed 4 days prior to the trip that we had been moved to Merrimac, a smaller unit. Smaller unit was fine as long as we had 2 beds and a pull out couch. We were assured this unit had 2 bedrooms and a living room with a pull out couch. Upon arrival, we had to wait 2+ hours to check in. The unit wasnt as nice,but perfect for us until we realized the couch didnt pull out. On top of that, half the lights didnt work, nor the refrigerator. Could it get a hold of Cindy. Left several messages and sent several emails to no response. We asked for Wifi and were told to use the neighbors, who is a pilot and out of town a lot. Upon check in, we were told we owed $154 extra or she could refund us and we would be on our own. Went ahead and paid it as we were already there and pushed into a corner. Spoke with 8-10 other different people renting from her that week who were also required to pay more than originally quoted. Ended up paying $154 more plus $100 more for an air mattress. We will be back at Largo Mar next year. Have been coming to PCB 5-6 times a year every year for 30+years and will continue to. This was definitely a learning experience. I would stay here again but without the broken promises and will not go thru her ever again. Wish I would have known 7 months prior to make other...
