Miramar Beach Banana Boat Rides — Attraction in Miramar Beach

My teens and their friends had fun for the actual ride however, a few elements were very disappointing. For one, the website says a 15 minute ride. Our experience was 9-10 minutes from load up to hopping off the banana boat. Also for the amount of personality and involvement of the staff, I would hold off on wasting money for a good tip ahead of time because it was completely undeserved. They looked so bothered and barely spoke. All this being said, they did enjoy the ride but the overall experience should be way better.

Update: Before the company’s response here online, they personally texted about the situation and I provided a screenshot of the 15 minutes. I’m sure that will get cleared up online. To be clear, the issue was with the overall dealings with the company, not just a matter few minutes. In response to everyone raving about their great time, I’m so glad to hear that. I wish that had been my experience as well. This company does have rave reviews so I was very surprised with our experience. I typically don’t review companies at all but I do rely on them myself. Again, due to my experience, I’m not advising to not tip or to not give them your business; my advice is to not tip ahead of time in case someone has my experience. My son, son-in-law, and myself decided to try snorkeling. The reason we are letting people know of our experience is because the excursion should not have happened. We knew nothing about snorkeling, so we did not realize it was far too windy and the ocean too wavy to have a good experience. It was YELLOW FLAG conditions, as I learned later. The company should not have taken us out. Instead, we were shuttled to a raft in the ocean and told to go at it. The waves took us so far from the raft that we struggled for most of the time to get back to the raft. I was the only one to make it back completely exhausted. The others were rescued. I wasn’t able to see very far into the water since it was all disturbed by the wavy ocean. I saw one minnow sized fish in the whole excision. The girl attendant was the only pleasant part of the excursion since she was friendly.

Staff five stars (very kind ladies) but the experience was a 1 star, so I am giving it a 3. They took us out about 200-300 yards from shore, not to a shallow bay. Our masks were not sealing properly. Worst of all the current was so strong that we could hardly see anything and we spent over half of our time trying to swim back to the floating dock. 2 out of 3 of us couldn’t make it back and had to be picked up by boat. I wish we could have just been told to float around and be picked up instead of even trying to swim back, because it was extremely tiring and we wasted our time trying. Given the fact the group before us had to be picked up from the water as well, I feel like they should have never taken us out and canceled the excursion before it started. Not a great...
