This is NOT an adult water park... This isn't a luxury spa.

Spa World was once a very respected, very authentic restorative Korean Spa. Complete with poultice rooms, saunas, treatments, bade pools with options for massages & exfoliation. Nothing, absolutely nothing, beats a Korean massage & body scrub. Its life altering & will leave you so soft & smooth.

This was a place of peace & tranquility that you could spend a day comfortably relaxing in. Was.

Something significant has changed.

I'm not sure if they have changed ownership or have decided to forgo the traditional Korean Spa model & go for a public pool business model. The tranquility is gone. Alarmingly, so is the hygiene.

The clientele has changed. The staff has changed. It's sad to see it.

My last visit there was genuinely uncomfortable. I always found this facility to be spotless & the staff was so helpful- they used to keep everything & everyone in order.

I never ever questioned the cleanliness of the facility. Ever. Until now. Now I seriously doubt the cleanliness of this facility.

It's a traditional Korean Spa, with ample signage explaining expectations. Educate yourself to better understand what that means before you go here.

That generally means guests will be naked in the bade pools & locker rooms. It also means guests are REQUIRED to fully shower & clean themselves before getting into the bade pools, like a decent hygenic human being. Even if they chose to wear a swimsuit.

On our last few visits, we watched in disgust as guest after guest walked into the bade pool area in swimsuits & walked right past the showers to climb into a bade pool. Why did they think we wanted to bathe in their DNA soup & filth....

Watching this I began to really wonder about the hygiene & cleanliness of the facility. People entered the bade pool area with drinks like it was a public pool, clearly unaware of what a bade pool is or how to behave in one. A woman walked into the bade pool with her phone looking for a place to rest it while she was in the pools. Bade pools are for quiet, peaceful restoration, not selfies. They prepare your skin & muscles for massage and scrubs. They aren't swimming pools.

Not that they should have to tell a grown up what hygiene is but not even the staff spoke up or asked folks to shower. I understand they shouldn't have to but clearly the new clientele can't read the posted signs or understand basic hygiene.

I was very concerned to see someone walking around with her phone in the locker room (where most guests are naked) and in the bade pool area, where, again, most guests are naked. THIS IS PROHIBITED.

I really cant picture coming back here despite coming here for years. It was so gross to see women leave the poultice rooms, sweaty AF, change into a swimsuit & climb into the bade pools UNWASHED like they're at a urine soaked public swimming pool instead of a culturally important health spa. Filthy & sweaty. Really just dirty & nasty.

This used to be a respite for generations of Koreans and culturally educated non-Koreans. Its truly shameful to see the deteriorating culture here. Brought on by guests who simply don't care enough to educate themselves & staff that's allowing it.

I really can't reccomend it if you're looking for a clean, peaceful, traditional Korean Spa. It isn't that anymore.

If you want to bathe in someone else's sweat & filth, while listening to them yelling & maybe get caught on their camera.....this is the spot for you.

If you do go, please be a decent human & educate yourself on what a Korean Spa actually is.

Read the signs, they're everywhere.

Remember you're not at a public swimming pool, but a traditional Korean Spa. Respect the facility. Remember the basics: Shower before entering the bade pools, every time. Shower, because no one wants to bathe in your filth. No food, drink or raised voices in the bade pools.

Lower your voice, because no one actually wants to hear you, we come here to relax.

Don't gawk at the naked guests because you, in a swimsuit, are actually the odd...

Chile, yes. Wait, wait lemme rephrase that....h3ll to the yes. I'm a transplant who's lived in the area for a few years now, but it took my cousin, who lives in Atlanta, to put me on to Korean Spas....go figure....I used to live in the Republic of Korea for over a year and never knew of such a place....but....now... I am edumacated honey, sho nuff.

I spent eight, I repeat 8 hours here all by my selfish, lonesome self. I mean I did obligatory ask my husband, but I knew, being the straight, no chaser guy that he is, would say no, w/out hesitation. (Yes!) Nope, I really didn't want him to go anyway and nope I didn't ask any of my girlfriends to go with me either. You see I know how some women are....they are chatty, they get bored easily, they are unsure of their bodies....it's always something. And I wanted NONE of this during my trip! None! (But sidenote, this is a great place for couples, girls trip, bridesmaids, etc.)

I arrived about 5:45am on a Saturday. I wanted to fully experience the venue and I was uber excited. The drive from my residence in Maryland to Centreville was unnoteworthy. I made it without any issues and I took the route w/out tolls only because I didn't have any cash on me.

Entry: I checked in at the desk and the male attendant was really friendly. I recieved my locker key and was on my way. You keep this key on your wrist the entire time. It's waterproof and used to track your incidentals.

Facility: Everything and I do mean everything was spick and span! I saw employees constantly cleaning the entire 8 hours I was there. I have a semi obsessive compulsive neat freak disorder, lol, and these folks certainly met my standards and then some |||

Fitness Center: Yea, no one ever uses this room, but I did! I worked out on the treadmill, recumbent bike and the vibration machine (very fun). This room is located upstairs and also has a convenient restroom located inside.

Massage: I (well my husband) paid for a 85 minute, nude body scrub massage ($125) and it was sway, right on point!!!! She was aggressive at times, but I lived and my body was out-the-womb baby-butter soft and clean! Pure Bliss, Chile Yes.

Nudity: Being nude is mandatory in the bade pool areas and I was right in my zone. I walk around my own home completely naked at times and I felt very comfortable. Each time you enter or re-enter the bade pool you MUST shower and women w/long hair must have it secured for sanitary purposes. I think nudity is freedom, but I still noticed several women being modest and trying to cover up with the small towels that are provided. Oh well, I was prancing around everywhere, baring it all.

Bade Pool/Jacuzzi/Hot Tub/Sauna: Another bliss moment. I loved the bade area and I thought if I died today I'd be beyond satisfied. I experienced some heavenly feelings in the bade pool with the powerful jets. Sinful I tell ya, but definitely worth every minute.

Restaurant: I ordered with my eyes vs. my stomach. I was hungry around noon, but I definitely ordered too much food. I had the Korean Sauna Style Boiled Eggs, Sushi, Soup and steamed dumplings, just being plain ole greedy. I tried to eat it all because it was terribly delicious---gluttony---but I couldn't finish it, lol.

Juice Bar: I ordered a Bubble Tea towards the end of my day only out of curiosity....yuck! I didn't like it. I found out quick that this girl doesn't care for tapioca...

Poultice Rooms: I visited every one, no favorites. Each has their own unique qualities and set temperatures. I was lucky enough not have any rude talkers while I was trying to "zen-out" Thank you Jesus.

Staff: Not too much interaction with the staff, but the couple of individuals I did speak with were nice and professional.

I saw a kids play room area as well, but I was lucky again not to see any kids during my visit.

Overall an amazing experience. So much so that I've already purchased Groupon vouchers for a future visit. Slowly becoming addicted....thanks Spa World and...

KEEP YOUR CHILDREN AND HUSBANDS AWAY FROM HERE. This is hardly a Korean spa and rather a nude bathhouse, at least for the men’s side. The second you walk in almost everybody will start staring you down. If you look even closer, you’ll notice that most people in the pools are pleasing themselves or each other. On several occasions, they will even try to reach out and touch you in the lockers rooms and pools. Some time ago, one guy kept harassing me and I asked him to leave me alone. Somehow he was able to find my phone number and photos online and began texting me inappropriate images. How did he get my number and photos?? This is not safe. He probably took a secret picture of me and found a way to Ted k my info down. This is a serious offense!!

It seems that the customers here cannot really take a hint. I tried staying silent the first 100 times but enough is enough. It is very obvious that the people that come here are coming here for one reason and one reason only, and it is definitely not to enjoy a traditional Korean spa.

Several times I’ve had to tell people to stop staring, and many times I’ve had to stop them from reaching over and attempting to touch me. This institution is not following FDA guidelines, first and foremost. The Jets are placed directly near the human center area, causing people in pool to be aroused and complete the job while doing so inside of the pools. If you look even closer, you will notice that there are particles of male discharge all in the pool waters.

This institution is not trying hard enough to reduce these encounters. Some people just don’t swing that way and do not wish to come and get harassed. This has nothing to do with accepting homosexuals, but you cannot force yourself on straight people and think it’s OK and get away with it.

I’ve come here for so long and I’ve even avoided coming here for a while and then I started to come back again only to find out that this behavior is probably welcomed. It’s absolutely disgusting. You go to a place to relax and leave even more uncomfortable than when you entered. I demand a refund for every single visit that I have come here because this is a continuous encounter and not a single time. I have never come here and these incidents did not happen.

I tried staying silent. The lady upfront told me to file a complaint. This is my complaint. I’m not going through their system. I’ve even seen older men staring down naked children who are not accompanied by their parents. I respect the Korean culture so much but the owners of this place are allowing this to happen and they are destroying the Korean culture. If you go to King spa or even the very expensive Korean spa in Alexandria, you will not see this, this only occurs here.

Something tells me that this is their only base of customers which is why they continuously allow this. If this is the business they wish to run, I would strongly advise to not advertise this place as a Korean spa, rather a gay bathhouse; that way people don’t have to come in here and be harassed and feeling scammed. It’s absolutely disgusting and unacceptable and I am going to filing a complaint with a Better Business Bureau, the FDA and speaking with my attorney about this.

This is a pure harassment case on multiple occasions. I only wish I had documented all of it, but if you are not interested in getting harassed other men with their hidden agendas, then I strongly advise that you not come here and pay a little bit extra to go to King spa where the facilities are much nicer cleaner and the staff takes better care of its customers. At bare minimum you will not get harassed.

Also, the food is TERRIBLE and they cheapen out...
