Could have been so much better! We went to see the new Top Gun Sunday. They were selling out of every showing, so you know that they knew it was going to be packed. First, they only had one person selling tickets. On a WEEKEND! Since each person had to pick their seat, this makes each transaction much longer. We waited a full fifteen minutes to get tickets. The showing we wanted was sold out, so we got tickets for the next one (2 hrs later). We went to do some shopping then came back. We went into the building 45 minutes before the show was supposed to start. Thank god we did! The line to get concessions was ridiculous! They did have 4 people working the registers, but they were so slow! They moved like they were in a trance. The guy behind us joked that they all looked high as kites. Maybe? Took us 30 minutes to get popcorn and a coke. We headed to the theater. Just a few steps inside and we almost left. It was friggin HOT! The hallway was nice and cool, but inside the theater was almost 10-15 degrees hotter. Quite a few people around us were remarking on it. As one of the people overheating was disabled, I volunteered to go get a manager. Boy was that a joke! After finding him, I informed him of the heat and he said he would see if he could find someone to look into it, but he was quite busy at the moment making popcorn. Too bad there aren't teenagers you can hire to do that. Needless to say, while it didn't get hotter, it didn't get cooler either. Finally, the movie! The movie was great of course! But, a little way into the movie we ran out of popcorn, so I grabbed the bucket and nearly empty coke and headed back out for refills. Get back out and see that HUGE line for concessions has gotten even longer, winding back and forth through the ropes and then out and across the entire lobby. I figured that they would at least have a faster line for those in the middle of a movie just getting refills. Nope. So no more popcorn (I wasn't going to miss the rest of the movie for it). So I headed over to refill the coke and head back. But, both of the coke machines were out of ice. Both of them! So, warm coke it was. UGH! Then, when I get back to the theater, I started noticing other people leaving with empty popcorn buckets, and returning with them just as empty. I counted 11 people, and those were just the ones who walked in front of me. Movie theaters make their money on concessions. The amount of money that they didn't bring in yesterday due to mismanagement was immense! We will not be back. It just isn't worth it. When I go to the theater, I don't expect white glove service, but I would like some popcorn and a cold coke. And a theater where it's not so hot that I worry about...

I am writing with deep urgency and disappointment regarding my recent experience at the AMC Conyers 16 location. As a long-standing and trusted brand in American entertainment, AMC represents more than just moviesâit represents family memories, quality time, and a standard of excellence. Unfortunately, this visit shattered that trust.
From the moment we arrived, the theater was filthy, poorly maintained, and completely beneath the standards your brand represents. The floors were sticky, trash was visible throughout the auditorium and common areas, and the environment was uncomfortable and unsanitary. It was, without exaggeration, the worst and most neglected movie theater I have ever stepped foot in.
Whatâs more troubling is the complete lack of care and professionalism from the staff. Employees seemed unbothered, disengaged, and indifferent to the customer experience. When I approached the on-site manager about these issues, they displayed a shocking lack of empathy or concern, offering no apology, resolution, or even basic customer courtesy. This type of leadership sets the tone for the rest of the teamâand in this case, it clearly shows.
AMCâs legacy in the entertainment industry carries weight. Your brand has been trusted for generations. When guests walk into an AMC theatre, they expect an experienceânot disappointment, discomfort, and disrespect. The message this location sends is one of negligence, poor leadership, and declining standards.
My family and I were disturbed and truly upset by the conditions. What was meant to be a relaxing evening quickly became stressful and unpleasant. We deserve to be compensated for the ruined experience. I am requesting a full refund for four tickets, as well as a refund for all concessions and snacks purchased during our visit.
Furthermore, please understand that I will be sharing this experience across social media platforms and with others in my community, not out of spite, but because it is important to hold trusted brands accountable when they fail to deliver on their promise.
This matter requires your immediate attention and corrective action. I urge you to investigate this location, evaluate the management practices in place, and take serious steps to restore the level of service and care AMC is known for.
I expect a timely and meaningful response.
FYI: The pictures posted does no justice, the entire theater is filthy and I wouldnât bring a cheap date here if I had to pick a place, yet...
Read moreBeen going to this theater since it opened. Actually watched it being built. In the early years it was a great place, super clean, very professional staff, etc. However in the past few years it's gone down hill fast!.. The ticket booth is rarely open and you have to buy tickets at the concession stand. The marques in the lobby telling you when to enter your theater are never updated. The marques identifying the moving playing in each individual theater are usually wrong. There is rarely anyone to take your ticket stub. I almost feel like I could walk into this place and go to any theater without paying for anything. I don't even think the management would care. Several years ago, I went to see Spider Man, when the movie started we got a kids cartoon about surfing penguins. Had to complain to management to correct the film, still took 15 minutes to find someone who could do it. On the good side the screens are large and seats are comfortable. Getting a good seat is rarely a problem as I've never seen a theater here with more than 25 people in it. Even when I went to see Star Wars The Force Awakens on opening day. That should tell you something.
(Update) This theater has recently been bought out by AMC. I've always preferred AMC theaters over Carmike. Since the switch I've been here about 3 times. I will say the most recent visit I have seen some improvement in the staff and I think they are trying to bring it up to AMC standards. They still have a way to go. One of the girls working the concession stand mentioned they are planning on getting new seats as all the old ones still have the Carmike Cinema logo embroidered onto them. This would be a welcome improvement. I hope the change in management can bring this place back to life.
(Update 2) It's been several years since my original review. The theater has gotten better. Seems to be better run. There is always someone to check my ticket before I go into a theater. The food is better and the staff is friendlier. The only issue I've noticed is the staff at the concession stand is lackadaisical . They move at their own pace with no effort to get the guest into the theaters before their movie starts. The seats never got replaced and still have Carmike...
