I've stayed in this property a number of times over the years, and my most recent may be my last. The hotel isn't that old, at least in hotel years, yet it seems to need a refresh. Stayed one night on business, and upon entering the hotel, the lobby is well appointed and smells wonderful. The person checking me in had a great demeanor with the guest just prior to me, but when he turned his attention my way, it was "ID and credit card". No welcome to the property, no thank you for being a Platinum member, nothing, just a rude interaction. Requested a room on the top floor, per my profile, and the best they could do was the second floor although the property was certainly not full. My guestroom was surface clean, but it could have used a good vacuuming as there were bits and pieces from previous guests on the floor. The climate control unit was extremely loud, and I woke up with congestion - presumably from an unclean air unit. One thing that struck me was the incredibly small television in the room. Today, most hotels in this category have a nice television with great resolution. Here, you get transported back to the 90s with a small screen and old technology. The shower was nice, but the soap/shampoo are the pump style in the actual shower. It's tough to shower without soap (the pump was empty), which was the case for me, but luckily I had a very small bar soap to use. Sleep quality was great, and the breakfast staff were extremely pleasant. That said, there was a leaky ceiling directly above the breakfast counter, which looked to have been there for a very long time. The attendants just kept wiping away the water, as it seemed this was an acceptable practice. ||Lastly, I was somewhat concerned about my safety while at this property. HUGE LED spotlights illuminate the parking lot and the signs stating that user is parking at their own risk. When going to and from my vehicle, I found myself constantly looking over my shoulder. Just not a secure feeling overall.||||There aren't a ton of good places to stay in Conyers, and this one is still fairly decent as long as you know what you are getting into. Next time, I will explore staying a bit further out in hopes of finding better...
Read moreWorst hotel stay I’ve ever had, and I generally travel about 20 weeks out of the year. I am not a Yelper, I don’t look for issues and complain for the sake of it - I’m writing this because I have to.
Started off with a dirty room; fresh wine stains on the floor (can be seen on my white socks), dirty shower, hair on the towels. First night had a huge cockroach pop out from under the TV cabinet setup.
Let the front desk know, told me they’d spray the room while I was out for the following day… 3:30p we come back and nothing has been done (not even the fresh towels I asked for).
Was on a meeting for work and the hotel phone starts ringing, I had to quickly answer and hang up to try and avoid my meeting being disrupted… immediately received another call and had to go to the other room, have my girlfriend answer the phone.
Now we’re told to come downstairs and move all our stuff, 20 mins before we had to leave and I’m wrapping up a call with a client.
We move to the new room (we were clearly a nuisance for the manager, most of the staff were nice) and the new one has no soap, the towel rack was completely off the wall, and the toilet was filled with the previous guests’ pee. On top of that, the toilet didn’t actually flush. There was also a horrible flickering light in the other room.
At this point we were the “un-pleasable guest” and everything we said to the staff (who were all hanging out on the couches downstairs while we tried calling the desk) just got us more eye rolls.
First - you’re falsely advertising the state & quality of this hotel, it is not a new Bonvoy, it’s a horrible remodeled one.
Second - leaving a previous guest’s waste in the bathroom is a biohazard, putting my girlfriend’s health at risk.
Third - cause for concern & the time taken to address serious issues: plenty of time was left for us to experience more of the potential hazard in living/keeping our things & food around bugs and our bodies around human waste.
I would much prefer a refund than having to tell all of my clients and business partners around Atlanta to never stay in a Marriott for the aforementioned reasons, and the overall...
Read moreWe stayed here this past weekend as my daughter had a softball tournament in the area. We did not check in until around 10:00 pm on Friday night since we had to work all day. After a day of work and the drive to the hotel we just wanted to sleep since we had to be awake at 6:00am. When we arrived the place was packed and people walking around with drinks in their hands everywhere. My daughter couldn't get to the elevator since it was blocked with a cart full of liquor. Get up to our room and it has a nice view over the courtyard. Unfortunatly, there was a full blown party going on in the courtyard. The music was so loud the windows were rattling. Our room smelled like marijuana as we watched out the window at everyone smoking and drinking...keep in mind i have my kids with me, the youngest one 5 years old. I called down to the front desk several times from 11:00pm-1:00am. I was told several others had complained and he would go take care of it. The noise never stopped until maybe the 5th time I called the desk around 12:45am. At which time everyone came to their rooms which apparently were right next to us. Again the music and noise continued in the room next to us. We called the front desk again. The front desk then called our room and came up and knocked on out door twice again waking up my children. We stay in hotels about 3 out of 4 weekends a month and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. We pay $233 to get a good night sleep before my daughter has an all day softball tournament and we don't even get to sleep because they are more worried about running a club then their guest getting a good night sleep. I then called Marriott customer service at 1:00am and they were also no help. She was very rude and did nothing to help my situation. She then said that she was creating a case and the hotel management would call me Saturaday morning...two days later and still no phone call, go figure. Poor customer service and definetly not a family environment! Still waiting for management to...
