I am writing to you to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received at Juicy Crab-Conyers last night. My experience was far from satisfactory, and I feel it necessary to bring it to everyone’s attention that they have intentions on patronizing this establishment.
I’m very disappointed in the Juicy Crab-Conyers to say the least. I placed an order online and headed out for the 20 minute drive. Prior to departing the online confirmation showed the item being ready for pickup 7:40 PM - 7:50 PM (ample time there). I arrived at 7:45pm with a text showing “your order is ready for pickup”. I entered the pick-up area, gave my name, and requested my order and was told it’s not ready and it will be 5-10 additional minutes.
As I patiently waited I witnessed sub-par transactions and lack of decent customer interactions; while several doordash orders were picked-up. After about 15 minutes, I asked for the status and was told it would be about another 20 minutes. I expressed that I had already waited 15 minutes and the staff member appeared as if he had no idea that I’ve been standing in front of him this entire time. At this point, I was quite frustrated after hearing the manager arrive to tell the employees to place a hold on all orders for 40 minutes.
Once I heard that, I shared with him what had transpired and questioned him about the status and that I received notification that my order was ready. He candidly said ”Oh that goes out automatically, but that’s never worked”. He proceeded to tell me that the dining room area was full and there were a lot of orders. I told him the amount of time that I have waited and waiting an additional 45 minutes was unacceptable. In addition, the employee kept telling each person that came in that there was a wait of “5-10 minutes”. Extremely false! He was curt and left the area stating he was going to check on the order, but never returned.
The customer service was poor, the “manager/cook” wasn’t apologetic nor empathized with me, he didn't present any type of resolution or accommodations for the inconvenience. What happened to the training on handling situations of this magnitude, certainly was not a pleasant experience from either staff member, especially when a paying customer is inconvenienced. It's essential that Juicy Crab create practical guidelines on how to handle customer complaints and that they train employees to implement them effectively.
They continued to bring out bags, when I asked again if any of the orders belonged to me - a different staff member asked for my name for the 4th time. I gave her my full name and then all of a sudden I heard the young lady say “here it is” (towards the other employees). I was totally appalled, that it appears that my order was sitting there the entire time. The other employee attempted to claim differently. No apology or closing - just handed me the bag. Ridiculous that simple effort and service could have rectified this issue within minutes. To add insult to injury, once I got home the order was completely WRONG! Unbelievable. From what I already witnessed and experienced, no need in contacting them regarding the order mix-up. I knew who was manning the phones. I understand mistakes can happen, but this restaurant did not meet my expectations at all. I found the behavior of the staff to be quite unprofessional, with some of them being downright rude and unhelpful.
Overall, my experience at Juicy Crab-Conyers restaurant was quite unpleasant, and I was very disappointed with the level of service I received. I hope that Juicy Crab-Conyers take this feedback constructively and make the necessary changes to ensure that other diners do not have to go through a similar and subpar experience in the future. (TLDR; do not order through doordash, the workers do not confirm the dashers/orders & the manager will sit there denying culpability with a smug look on his face.)
I ordered at 6:24pm - 1.5hrs ago - thru doordash. My Dasher called me 30 minutes later to tell me that the restaurant was telling her that someone else had picked up my order. I quickly checked the app to see if there was another name now delivering my order. To my surprise, it said that my order had in fact not been picked up and that my Dasher, the woman I was still on the phone with, was still waiting for the store to allow her to pick it up. When I relayed this to her, she repeated this to the store employee. She also allowed me to speak to the employee over the phone. They maintained that the order was picked up by a man and they confirmed my order with them. At this point it was already obvious to me that this was the restaurants fault or a MAJOR glitch with Doordash. Either way, I decided to try and cancel my order, but the message I received was that I would not get a refund due to my Dasher already waiting for my food & the restaurant having made it. My Dasher also could not cancel the order on her end. At this point I decided to drive the 20 minutes to the store. 🙄
When I got there, I spoke with the employees who repeated the story of handing my food to "another dasher" who claimed to be picking up my order. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was met with a short man with a square head wearing a striped pink shirt (details for clarity) who claimed to be the manager. I later found his name to be "JJ." When I told him everything, he shrugged his shoulders and simply said it had nothing to do with him. In fact he repeated this for the next 30 minutes that I was there with my Dasher trying to clear this up. When I asked to see their confirmation that my order was picked up, they showed me their tablet which clearly showed that my order was handed to MY DASHER - the woman standing right next to me. Yet, on both of our apps, my order was not picked up, and by the employees' own admission, they handed my food to a man. Soooo, the onus was very clearly and undoubtedly on the restaurant. I asked politely over & over if they could remake my food, JJ declined. Not only did he decline, he openly and proudly accused me and/or my dasher of scamming & walked away from me as I was speaking.
Thankfully, I was able to speak to a live person on doordash who canceled my order and paid my doordasher for her waisted time. I'm sure I can share more details but I got home just a few minutes ago emptyhanded & my family & I still need to eat.

Read moreWe went to the juicy crab to celebrate my birthday being that I had heard so much about it. I am a true lover of seafood and since it was so highly spoken of, I thought this would be a nice place to try. The food is decently priced and you're able to select meals from the combo list (which includes fried food) or you can make your own combo from the list of steamed items. I was very happy to see that had steamed items and not just fried food. I prefer my seafood steamed or raw so this was definitely right up my alley. They had several types of clams, mussels, oysters, Blue Crabs, Dungeness crabs, snow crabs, shrimp with and without the head (which was surprising), and crawfish. The seasonings came in mild, medium and spicy. The preparation of the food reminds me of the Louisiana style Seafood boil. The seasoning is good. I'm pretty sure it is a house made seasoning. They serve the food in plastic bags and they give you a bibb to keep your clothing clean.
The food was average. I've definitely had better. I also make this type of food at home regularly. Nothing really stood out as far as the food was concerned. The service was pretty good. The only thing is the menus has different prices on them, so it could be off a few dollars. They have the menus mixed up and the prices have increased. Although the price increased, it is still decently priced food, especially for seafood. You definitely could get more food for your buck if you made it at home. They give you a half a pound of most of the items, which is priced around the amount of a pound if purchased from a market but being that they're cooking the food for you and it's a decent selection of food, I still think the price is okay.
