Due to all of the construction going on, the location is hard to get in and out of. I stayed here for 7 days, I came from out of town for work. The most traumatizing part was housekeeping using their key to get in room WITHOUT knocking. I had my shirt off and just came out of the bathroom, as I'm passing the door and putting my shirt partially back on, my door started opening. I slammed it shut, then she knocked and said "housekeeping". I rushed to put my shirt all the way on and opened the door, she said she wanted to check to see if I needed anything and she thought no one was in the room. I used to work for a Choice hotel, even if we think a room is unoccupied, we always knock twice just to make sure before we enter a room. Had she been a minute sooner she would have seen me shirtless on the toilet. For the most part, the room was clean, the chair had a stain on the edge of the arm that looks like poop or blood, so I didn't sit in that chair. The floor had sticky stuff on it in front of the closet. They cleaned my room every other day, but they'd turn off the air so I'd come back to a hot and humid room each time. There was no hot breakfast the first day as I was told the breakfast person didn't show up. But the rest of the stay the breakfast was great, they had a variety of things to choose from. There was something hot that was different every day. All of the other staff I encountered were nice. My 1st night there, there was construction going on in the middle of the night. The sound of drills near my room woke me up around midnight. The front desk said something about working on the elevators. I parked my car around by the breakfast room door so I could eat and leave quickly. I can't pinpoint if it happened here or on the road somewhere, but on my last day, as I was leaving, my car told me my 2 back tires were going flat. I had to keep filling them with air to make it home. They both had nails in them. Aside from housekeeping walking in on me, I had a decent stay. Nothing I'm saying here is a complaint, I'm just stating what went on during my stay so others can see what goes on and can make their own choice.

I was given a room on the first floor and upon walking into the room I heard housekeeping ask the front desk woman to ensure the rooms were clean before assigning them to visitors. This made me feel weary because why would the front desk associate need to check the rooms to make sure they’re clean as that should be housekeeping’s duty. Upon walking into the room, it seemed clean… until I checked the bath room. The toilet seat was dirty and the sink had toothpaste stains in them. I promptly grabbed my things and went back to the front desk. Upon walking out of my room I was met by the same housekeeping man from earlier asking what was wrong with my room. After expelling the issue to him, he says, “I TOLD HER TO CHECK THE ROOMS!” I go to the front and the associate apologizes and hands me another key to a room on the second floor. She gives me two water bottles saying thats the “least” she could do for a dirty room. Two water bottles. She sends the same housekeeping man to the second floor to check my new room to ensure it’s clean before I get settled in. As I’m walking to the elevator to go up to the second floor I noticed that the floors were filthy. There were stains and old gum on the floor and the elevator was faulty as it was struggling to close once I got in. Upon walking down the hallway of the second floor, I’m met by the housekeeping associate again stating that the room is “clean”. It indeed was NOT. The sink, floor, and bathtub had hair in it and the toilet had urine stains on the lid. The windows were dirty like they had a film on them. Upon opening the bar soap to wash my hands, to my surprise housekeeping gave me a bar soap that had been used and resealed in the same packaging. I had a terrible experience so I went to the store and purchased my own cleaning products to clean the bathroom, body wash, and hand soap as this hotel’s housekeeping is lazy and does the bare minimum.

We got a room with 2 Queens for 2 adults and one child for one night. Room was clean and spacious. Early check-in was not available but we didn't mind due to the cleanliness of the room. Check in was at 3pm and check out was at 12pm the following day. The hotel location was great. We did not have far to drive to visit all of the places we wanted to see and do all of the things we wanted to do. We also received complimentary bottled water for the duration of our stay along with a nice complimentary breakfast from 6am-10am. The only complaint that could be made would be that the toilet ran for a good few minutes after flushing. However it did not bother us one bit and it could not be heard outside of the bathroom with the door shut. The front desk was made aware and made plans to have it looked at. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. Price of room was $149 but with tax was totalled to $176.35.

Maintenance staff is clearly not competent. Towel hook falling off the wall and pulling off the wallpaper because it was glued on with silicone.

The remote control didn't work, NONE of the outlets worked (we had to charge all devices by taking turns in the bathroom outlets).

The room was clean enough, though nothing grosses you out like finding previous guests hair in various places. To be fair, I didn't know checkout was so late (12pm) so we showed up pretty early (10:30), that might have rushed them some because they still got us in by 11:30.

On that note, the front desk staff was wonderful. The pool is kinda small, but nice, and the Continental breakfast is about what you expect. Nothing mind-blowing, but good enough to start the day. Except the waffle bar, that was great (until some kid made a mess of it because he didn't know what he was doing... Parents nowhere to be found).

There's a Walmart right behind the hotel which is both convenient and ugly. Some decent food nearby. Not the greatest area, gets kinda rough a few blocks over - found a needle in the parking lot... Didn't have any problems though.

Edit* response to owner: I appreciate that! Please don't take my review too hard, I am a very tough, but honest and objective critic.

Nothing about our stay was terrible, all just minor inconveniences, not worth troubling the staff over. Honestly, we were so tired we weren't super worried about much, we just wanted to sleep, so having to go through room swaps or staff in the room would have been more trouble for us at the time than it was worth.

We still had a wonderful stay and thank you for your efforts and hospitality. None of this was enough to keep us away, as all are easily remedied, and much of my review was more about the surrounding area (and a young waffle maker) which you can't control.

I would definitely talk to the maintenance staff. I did similar work for many years and have a keen eye for poor work. They aren't doing you any favors. Front desk staff was fantastic, and the cleaning staff was friendly, warm, and polite. We got many smiles and hellos as we passed them.

To summarize, in order for something to get 5 stars from me it has to be a truly phenomenal experience. To me, 3 stars is still pretty good, 4 is great. 5 is life-altering and I will be a lifetime customer (or guest in this case).

My apologies if my rating scale seems off from other reviews, by my scale you guys are still pretty great. Just some areas of small improvement will make this place really shine. Thank you for paying attention and...

I use reviews to help me get a real experience with services or products. I hope I can do the same for you today. I'm taking the time to express how my stay was and the outcome of the General Managers (GM) at this hotel.

We arrived at the hotel and the front desk person was polite and pleasant. We arrived at our room on the 4th floor there was a blue tag on our door saying our room was clean and safe. Which gave me relief since covid- 19 is still active. The next morning I was about to take a shower. There were 4 strands of long blondish red hair on the wall. I took pictures and went to the front desk where I speak with the GENERAL MANAGER (GM) I'm expressing that because this isn't just a receptionist or desk clerk. I showed her the pictures and she immediately gives me a discount. I'm still standing there just staring at her waiting to hear how she is going to rectify the situation. She said, anything else. I said yes can you have some come to clean the bathroom. She said, " oh yes, I can do that". I waited 40 minutes no one came. Left out figuring maybe they will just do it when they clean the room for the day. My Hubby turns the water on hops in the shower not noticing the hair is still on the wall but it gets worse. Now the water is backing up. We move the cover back and the drain is full of dirty, soap foam and more hair. I took more pictures and went to the desk where I spoke to the Assistant General Manager who immediately apologized and said she would have house cleaning clean our room. She also offered a few incentives once she saw she made me feel pleasant about my stay at her hotel.

I almost feel like I was stereotyped because I was just awarded a discount. As though that is the solution. I am thankful for the discount but feel like that's comes after the solution not as the solution. I didn't receive an apology or anything from the GM it took the Assistant GM to solve my problem. The kitchen staff Ms. Annette and Tyrel made our breakfast experience great. Ms. Annette made some amazing grits and I am very particular when it...
