I love this place. It’s quirky, locally owned, always a great selection of films each week, they host great events and best of all: there are NO bad seats in ANY of their cozy theaters. Perfectly sized for great seats no matter where you’re sitting. Woohoo!!! They’ve got great popcorn toppings to boot. SUPPORT INDEPENDENT THEATERS! They are the best ✨

*also… BIG UP 🙌🏼💕 to the faaaabulous staff who comped me for another movie last night. There was a guy coughing and hacking up a lung in that small theater and I had to run out. I don’t care if it isn’t COVID, he was really sick (and rude for staying). They were super accommodating at the theater and understood how uncomfortable it is to hear coughing (and worry about whatever bug he had) over the movie - yes, he was that audibly sick and gross about it. He wouldn’t leave so I did and Darkside Cinema was super awesome and understanding. During COVID, Darkside was really great about masks too. Yay to science and NOT consciously...

Someone can call it luck or coincidence, but I have loved each and every film that I have seen at Darkside. Some films are not even the usual kinds of films that I watch, but I still go each time knowing that I'll have a good time and that I will see something that will add something new to my life.

Great place, great service, awesome atmosphere and selection of amazing films (many award winning) and the popcorn and snacks are really tasty. So, take a chance and watch a new film now, and there is a very high chance you'll be blown away too. No research necessary, most times. Great films, great staff, comfortable atmosphere. They have inexpensive tasty food -- supper for $5! I'm addicted to the quinoa bowl. They're always having special events: tacky old science fiction movies you can heckle, complete with food credit, free ice cream bars and a free raffle; German film festivals; research documentaries; silent movies with live musical accompaniment; community fundraisers and more.
