Took my two little ones one day after coming from the nearby library. I’m not sure what I expected, but it wasn’t much. There were a few things back there, but mostly just open space. I allowed my five and six-year-old to run around for a bit, but that didn’t last long because when no one else is around it’s sort of creepy. Scratch that... it’s very creepy. Also, the “park” could use someone to maintain it considering the fact that it doesn’t look well kept.
UPDATE 12/26/2018 (Added 1 star from 3 to 4 stars.) My husband and I were looking for a place to take our children to see some Christmas lights. We saw a few people mentioning Chimney Park, so since it's ten minutes from us, we decided to give it a try. When we arrived there were a few people already there, but after maybe five minutes, it was literally just us. The park wasn't overly decorated, but it was nice. My two little ones really enjoyed running around freely; even though it was a little creepy with it just being us. Either way, they had a blast. What they loved the most was the covered bridged kind of thing. It was wrapped with a bunch of lights, and they just kept going through and dancing. We stayed for a least a half an hour just walking around and checking everything out. I honestly had a good time myself. As you can see by the few photos I've uploaded, whoever decorated did a good job. I will definitely bring the little ones back...
Read moreChimney Park is a beautiful park full of nature and serenity. I went there with my twin teens and they really enjoyed themselves. The park also leads to a walking trail. We walked, talked and sometimes we just silently enjoyed the lovely sounds of nature. Chimney Park also has a place for your dog so they can enjoy the beautiful outdoors also. The dog's area consists of two fenced in play areas. There is a small fenced in area for small dogs and then there is also a larger area for larger dogs. We plan on bringing our little doggie there soon. Chimney Park is definitely a place worth exploring. Find your serenity while enjoying the magnificent and soothing...
Read moreThis place was cool, if not a wee bit eerie. It was a nice warm day but the park was almost entirely deserted. A medley of childrens’ small toys was scattered about the park and it almost seemed as if their placement was intentional. They have various nature craft projects instructionals posted to encourage nondestructive ways for visitors to engage with nature. Overall, the park is obviously in the process of being restored and it’s upkeep and grounds maintenance is on the higher end of moderate to very good. It was vastly different than what you would expect from your typical community park,...
