REVIEWS FROM A BUBBLE TEA ADDICT:

I ordered 2 bubble teas and 1 fruit drink (passion fruit and lemon I believe). This is my very first time ordering from them so I ordered a staple (Jasmine Milk tea), a favorite that places rarely have (lavender), and something different for my fiance cause he doesn't quite like tea (the passion fruit one). I love bubble tea very much and have a little bit of an addiction to it ever since my first time trying it in summer 2014 from Sweet Hut. Since then, I have been to various bubble tea spots in many cities and a few states. I live in Covington now and making a drive to Morrow or Duluth is too much for bubble tea (I'll do it if I become desperate).

Because I don't want to drive far, I've tried some from a few near by places: 7 Rolls Ice Cream in Conyers, Kelly's Fusion. As far as bubble tea goes, both were a let down. They didn't even have Jasmine tea.

Madd Lulu called me about my GrubHub order to let me know that they didn't have just Jasmine tea, but they have other things with Jasmine. A gentleman mentioned Jasmine and almond flavor (or vice versa). So i went with that.

So! It brings me to say, 1st time tasting tea from Madd Lulu and they get an A- (4 stars) from me for my teas. I'll update you after my fiance tries his drink.

The reason why it's not 5 stars is because the tapioca isn't really soft or cooked enough it seems. That is also important to me as a bubble/boba milk tea addict. So if you dont care about tapioca pearls, then this place is THE go to around here for delicious milk tea and I will be a repeat customer. I am very satisfied with the flavors and levels of everything. Oh! And the cups are cute.

4/5, would highly recommend to Bubble tea lovers and tea lovers, and when my cousins who also love bubble tea visit, we will all go and try it together. :) Thank you, Madd Lulu for granting a wish I've made for nearly 2 years of having a spot to go to for my favorite drinks. ♥️ It makes this Asian and white girl happy.

I’ve been to many cafés in this country, but Maddlulu takes the cake as being one of the best cafés I’ve ever been to. As soon as you walk in, you’re instantly hit by a certain aesthetic with the way the place is set up. The chairs and tables are well designed and the overall atmosphere is something I’ve yet to find anywhere else. It’s a wonderful place at anytime of day; whether it’s drinking a nice coffee in the morning or having a refreshing bubble tea during lunch. In fact, this is the only café in Newton County and Covington that provides a variety of different bubble tea flavors!

I’ve never tasted coffee quite as amazing as the ones Maddlulu have to provide. I’ve always had an issue at other coffee shops with getting my order correctly and just the way I want it. When I first came to Maddlulu’s, I wasn’t expecting them to get it right the first time, but I was utterly wrong! My iced mocha hit the right spot and I was blown away by how delicious it was. I assumed it was just the coffee that was good, but the drinks are all outstanding! Their coffees, smoothies, and teas have been nothing but pleasing to my taste buds and my stomach! Maddlulu provides something for everyone, no matter how picky you may be, including food! They have cannolis, crepes, sandwiches, soups, ice cream, cookies, the whole patch! It isn’t just a regular coffee place to get your cup of java, it’s a place full of variety and something for everyone.

Overall, Maddlulu is a place that any coffee lover should definitely stop by and have a taste. The staff there are extremely friendly and hard working. I always enjoy talking to the head of the café anytime I get the chance and any of the other staff members. It’s a great place to hangout with people, have study sessions, or any social event. I definitely plan on going back whenever I get the chance and I highly recommend everyone to stop by!

P.S. they have a boutique in the back that’s filled with a lot of clothes...

I was just overall disappointed with this place. The staff seemed aloof and unorganized. There was a lack of urgency and just general confusion with every order taken. I was told one item of my order, a "bubble cone" would require a short wait. I was told this AFTER I has already paid, but I felt I could wait a short while. I had two other items on my order: a regular ice cream cone and an iced mocha. Both came out fine. Although it did take at least 3 people to make the mocha and over 10 mins to make.

Long story short:

The short wait for my "bubble cone" passed the 30 min mark. The staff seemed to be getting more and more flustered and agitated at everyone. There was a line growing and there were increased customer volume.

I never got my bubble cone. I just left. 30 mins for an ice cream isn't worth it. I also never got a reason for the delay despite me asking 3 times. I was never offered and alternative or any kind of explanation. When I asked about it again around the 35 min mark I was just told "we haven't started on it yet" and then it was explained to me there were a lot of orders.

I had already received all other items from my order, and all the other customers before me seemed to have been served and had left. I was tired and just told them to cancel the order. I didn't even ask for a refund. I just wanted to leave.

Maybe they are better on slower days? Maybe the staff had an off night? Whatever the case, they were unprofessional and overall rude. Nothing there seemed to be worth the hassle of what customers were going through.
