I have been coming to mamies every single week for the past 8 months. Me and my husband order the same thing every time. Well, im more than disappointed with how the OWNER treats her customers. We order chicken and dressing, with 2 sides and ALWAYS comes with a regular drink. The total is ALWAYS $13.30. They used to give us a generous amount of food and were always so kind, UNTIL the day the OWNER was in the restaurant ringing people up. My husband goes down to the register to pay for our food. He said "we want sweet tea please" she replied "oh this doesnt come with a drink" and he said "What? I get the same thing every time it always comes with a drink for both of us" she rudely replied "Um, Im the OWNER and i'm telling you, it does not come with drinks." My husband being the nice man he is, replied, "well ok". She began to ring the food and said your total is "18.99" My husband shockingly said "how is it that much, we get this every week and its only $13. She rudely, once again, said to him "Well you have been being charged wrong because this is how much it is. im the OWNER" She could have chose a different way with words but thats just how some people are but i found it very disrespectful to speak to such loyal customers like that. The following week when we came back for dressing, The serving amount they give has been cut in half, and i asked why and the workers said no names bc they are great employees but we just knew why it had been cut down so much. But it still wasn't $18.99 when we were rung up. It was $13.30 like always but they arent allowed to give drinks with the meals anymore. Its just not a good way to run a business, by changing prices on customers and jacking them up, cutting the serving size in half, and not giving drinks with meals anymore. but what made me the most disappointed, was the way the OWNER handled this situation(by being rude and saying shes the owner so she can do what she wants is basically what was said) She rang the price up and said it doesnt include drinks i dont care if you got them before. (this is how we took what she said and how anyone else would.) I love Mammies and i have for years. They have outstanding employees who have been there for years and always make sure im taken care of, and they always are so caring about their customers... i never expected the owner of the place we love so much, would have treated loyal customers in this manner. A little kindness goes along way and i hope you guys continue the good work and dont let rude influences contribute to the way you guys have been running...

We didn’t dine in, we grabbed food to go; so there’s no “it cooled on the table” excuse. The “biscuits” were desiccated artifacts from the Museum of Dry Things. Picture a nine-day desert trek, then an overcooked Popeyes biscuit abandoned on a dashboard. Drier than both. The eggs were ice-cold, the cheese barely thinking about melting, and the whole bag felt like it took a detour through Antarctica. Not “to-go,” “to-chill.”
Grits? Passable, if you enjoy your breakfast salted like a February sidewalk. The “salmon” croquettes were H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E tasting. We didn’t get salmon; what we got was a mystery white fish that has never met a salmon in its life. My stomach has been churning like a 1920s butter churn ever since.
We spent $40+ to come home hungry. Four people, zero clean plates, everyone raiding the fridge. I remember the Lithonia days fondly; this isn’t that. If hype has a refund policy, I’d like to file a claim.
Not returning. Heat the food, learn restraint with salt, and if you put “salmon” on the label, let...
Read moreAfter using the Drive Thru on 2 visits to Mamies in Covington and waiting up to 20 minutes each time, on my third visit I decided to come inside the dining room only to find that the reason for the EXTREMELY long wait in the drive thru was because the girls running the drive thru were laughing and having long conversations with other employees and with customers in the dining room.; even though I was standing within 4 feet of the serving counter, I was not acknowledged for 10 minutes.
They are purpously going as slow as possible so they have to wait on as few people as possible....This has to be hurting Mamies Kitchens bottom line in a big way; very sad to find a restaurant with such good food and the Worst Customer Service. My hope is that Upper Management will take charge and "Get rid of the Dead Wood" and make this location a great place to visit. Please...
