My experience started out OK. I got an appointment the same day I called and I got really good eye exam(I think). When I went to order and pay there seemed to be lots of confusion with my insurance and how it should be billed, kinda like the ticket agent at the airline. I am not a person who gets glasses often and I am not very savvy when it comes to glasses. So my vision plan pays up to $300 in network which includes Visionworks. After the rep processes my perscription the total comes to $323, which I am fine with and I am thinking this is great. Come to find out the real cost of the glasses is $540 but Visionworks applied a 40% discount to get to the $323. Well OK but what they don't tell you is that if they apply the discount then your insurance plan treats it as out of network and my plan only pays $192 for out of network....Mmmmmm. I think I got snookered, oh by the way my vision is not bad, no stigmatism or anything like that. When I called to complain they told me I was entitled to my opinion but I was more than compensated. Wow talk about a lack of transparency and then deciding for themselves how to best process my claim so it looks like the insurance company is the bad guy. Had I known I would have went elsewhere. I've called to order replacement glasses and the phone customer service is just as great. The last few times we had a lady that I believe her name was Wendy. Unbelievable. I went in stressed after an eye appt with my 7 year old. My 7 yr old was irritable and upset after her appt. I gave Wendy a heads up that it might not go well. She assured me it'd be okay. The way she spoke to my daughter blew me away. My daughter usually shuts down. Wendy didn't treat her like she was a child and couldn't make decisions. She included her in the decisions of her glasses, asked her what she doesnt like about her current glasses, etc. and my daughter came around. I was so impressed with the customer service. Read moreCommunication here is horrible. Back in April I came in for an eye exam to get contacts. Everything went well except for the fact that no one called me when my order was ready for pick up. I went to this location because I work by here. When I called them on a Wednesday (after work) to get an update, I was told my order had been ready since Monday. I asked if I could come pick it up then and was told the doctor was gone for the day so I would have to come in the next day. This was very inconvenient because I had to drive from Allison Park to Cranberry on a day I wasn’t working. It was also the week of my wedding so I had a lot going on.
