Waited for about 15 minutes before the manager noticed our table had been overlooked. It happens. They were extremely busy and the waitress said she didn't realize we were in her section. Since we had plenty of time with our menus, we ordered everything at once. Drinks came out promptly, and the waitress offered to bring our salads out immediately. When she did, we mentioned that no silverware had ever been brought to the table. She went off to get some and then apparently forgot about us. We sat with our salads for 10 to 15 minutes and tried to just laugh it off. It was comical. When she did return, it was clear the waitress forgot that she forgot the silverware, and so, we asked for the biscuits/cornbread that were supposed to come with the meal. She didn't offer to refill my empty beverage. I had to wait another stint for that and then ask her to do it. She forgot again. By this time, my wife's beverage was empty too. The saving grace was the food, which was truly everything we have come to expect from CB. Only a slight apology from the waitress throughout with a latent "thanks for being so patient, I'm new" at the end. We tipped her anyway. She was clearly overwhelmed. Previous experiences here have been great. But what was also stunning was that the management, when confronted kindly about our terrible service experience, concurred with our assessment, admitted they knew the waitress was awful, but proceeded to offer no form of remuneration--not so much as a free dessert or coupon or anything. The cashier was equally apologetic, but no compensation was forthcoming. I was dumbfounded. In a similar establishment in Monaca last week, my son's steak was cooked incorrectly and, without hesitation, the manager hand-wrote a free meal ticket for him since we had already paid the bill. We were not visibly upset with the management. We took pains not to cause a scene. I just expected better. This would never have occurred at most of the other restaurants I frequent. I may have to shy away from this one in the future. I wish...
Read moreThe entire restaurant was a filthy mess, and the food was awful. I ordered the Cracker Barrel Sampler and the offerings were not very promising, The chicken and dumplings were flavorless mush to say the best, the meatloaf with it's Myriad of textures from what I can only assume had a "wet cat food"-like flavor and texture at its center, to the ketchup crystallized, crusted desert rock exterior. The Slaw my fiance ordered had the remnants of a prior meal encrusted to the bowl. My daughter said the Pancakes tasted "off" I couldn't agree more because I ate my son's other pancake he didn't eat once I had my uneaten plate of "food" removed from the table. The best offering was certainly the Sunday special the homestyle fried chicken, and one of the biscuits the server didn't drop on the visibly sticky serving tray and tried to replace on the plate before my skeleton nearly removed itself from my body and repeatedly said "No!" as it horrifically approached the other untainted biscuits. The manager passed our table several times without so much as offering a half hearted apology, but they were kind enough to comp the dinner I was unable to eat. The cashier asked if I wanted to speak to a manager, but I graciously declined he certainly didn't want to speak to me. She apologized but didn't seem very surprised and said well maybe they will comp the entire meal next time if it happens again... there are far too many great places to eat in Cranberry Township for me to reenter this establishment. Trust me, your high school or the last hospitals you visited had far more palatable food than this huge let down of a corporate slop tossing circus! ...oh yeah I think my kids meals were supposed to come with a dessert but I may be wrong. I took them somewhere better for...
Read moreWe used to really enjoy going here for the down home country feel and for the food items that you couldn't get at other restaurants. However, they have since removed those items from the menu( Lima beans, cooked cabbage, the ham is off the favorites dinner, vegetable beef soup, and the dirt dessert to name a few. I was told by my waitress that "you can only get ham with the breakfast now"). I asked said waitress about some of the new offerings and instead of upselling them and explaining them in a way that would make people want them she told me that the shrimp rice skillet was "extremely salty and I'm sure you wouldn't like it nobody likes it when they order it. " I did try the pot roast shepherd's pie that was covered with the hash brown casserole. The picture on the menu showed small pieces of meat carrots and gravy with a nice hash brown crust over it. It looks quite nice. What I received looked like somebody had thrown it across the room. There were no carrots to be found and three huge honking chunks of meat with fat on them. They garnish the top with a dab of sour cream some green onion slices and some chopped tomato. Mine had the core of the tomato for the garnish. I spoke to the manager and I said I thought this was going to be smaller pieces of meat chopped up like it was a menu and I was promptly told "no this is how it's made". When I pointed out the core that's made of on the garnish I said surely that this could not be acceptable and he said "no it's not". He did offer to move It from the check and get me something else. We used to come here twice a week prior to the pandemic but then they started to removing everything off the menu that we enjoyed so we rarely come anymore. But I will say the quality of the service has...
