Update 2-5-22 They really hurt us today, came from Oregon for some Garlic Habinero Butter, pulled up to the shop happy, ran to the door, CLOSED! The are closed Saturday and Sunday through January and February. Google maps really let us down. I have notified Google of their change in hours but by the time they change it March will be here.
Original review, Moved to the area from Wisconsin ( cheese capital of the US). Largely unimpressed with Tillamook products. After another beautiful day at the beach we somehow discovered this place. Bought some garlic cheese curds, very reasonable price! They make them fresh every Wednesday. Huge lovely garlic flavor. Came another time and bought habinero garlic curds, again, HUGE flavor. These curds are better than any curds I ever had in Wisconsin. I just wish they made them fresh everyday. Their pecorino Romano is excellent, they make most of their cheeses but also have cheese made by other producers. Bought their habanero butter on a whim and OMG it’s amazing! They use real garlic not garlic powder. I can’t imagine visiting Crescent city and the beaches and the redwoods without making a stop here. By the way, the staff/owners have always been so nice and helpful. You are all awesome! I look forward to trying more of their products. Can you imagine shrimp scampi cooked in their habinero garlic...
Read moreAn excellent cheese shop. Prices were good and the staff was super friendly. I would highly recommend you stop here and get some dry jack. Only one other place in America sells dry jack and it's over a thousand miles away in Wisconsin (Willow Creek Creamery). Both places say they are the only one with dry jack, but the recipe is slightly different at both places. (It is a little harder at this location , think parmesan hardness, and it has a rind with a hint of chocolate taste. The other places dry jack was still hard but a little creamy without a special rind. Both are excellent) Definitely some good cheese here and they have a window so you can see them making it. We will be visiting again when we are in the area because the staff is so friendly and we are really into cheese as you can probably tell from reading...
Read moreVisited CC during Fourth of July week and rented an air bnb. The hosts had a binder of their recommendations and Rumiano Cheese. Co was one of them. I thought we’d be able to take a tour (the hosts papers said they offered tours ) but they don’t do that anymore . The inside of this place is very small and its difficult to maneuver when there’s more than 3 people in the store. When you are inside, you will see a bunch of medals from fairs that their cheese has won which was fun to see, you also will get to see through a window of the workers . Not sure what to get? They have samples of cheese curds waiting for you to try. I believe I ended up going for the cheese curds with garlic. It must have been a popular being it was the second to last one! If you’re a cheese fan like me , then I recommend...
