Contacted wheelzup for a shuttle ride from Cumberland to Pittsburgh after riding the Great Allegheny passage. Initial contact with through the website and phone call and it was a very easy and seamless experience. Great customer service throughout the transaction and was able to easily make adjustment to the plan about a week out as we had fewer people traveling. The company ensured that we were contacted and kept apprized of the schedule, providing the name and contact information of the driver. Al, our driver, was very prompt and friendly. Very pleasant conversation during the ride back to Pittsburgh. We expected to go back via the turnpike or highway however, he took the back roads. Unexpected route but we appreciated it as it was wonderful to see another part of Maryland and Pennsylvania. He became almost a history / tour guide as he told us about the various locations and provided even more information which made the trip all that much better. Would highly recommend wheels up and if you can get Al as your driver, I'd recommend him, he's awesome. 5 +...
Read moreI’ve been waiting in anticipation for Wheelzup Adventures to open their doors. And today was THE day, the doors were open, and I walked in with a breeze at my back. Sunlight was flooding in and catching shiny wheel spokes in the window display. Jamie and Mandela greeted me enthusiastically, matching their vibrant and colorful logo displayed on the wall behind them. Within minutes my arms were full of vibrantly patterned merchandise and my calendar was filling up with future family-friendly hikes and biking trips. My daughter was upstairs playing with their daughters and by the end of this most delightful experience I can say... I want in on this Wheelzup Adventure Outing Club AND that I am a loyal customer! (So much so, that I stuck their stickers smack in the middle of our back car windows.
Go check them out, WheelzUp is a great addition to Historic Cumberland...
Read moreWe had underestimated how challenging it would be to take our bikes back up to the Continental Divide the very next day after riding from Pittsburgh to Cumberland on the GAP. We were desperate and reached out to Wheelzup at the recommendation of the hotel we stayed at. Mandela was very gracious and was able to shuttle us back up the hill. He was very kind to do this at the last minute. I felt he really cared about our dilemma. During the ride to Meyersdale he told of so many interesting facts about the area and gave us lots of good tips about biking. I hope when we get to come back to Cumberland we’ll have a chance to see him and shop at the store. The store had so much useful merchandise for cycling and outdoor activities that I wished I needed to purchase clothing and/or gear. Maybe next time. Thanks again, Mandela for...
