The Berry Center had so many graduations scheduled for this weekend that my son's graduation ceremony seemed very rushed. Half of the traditional speeches and recognitions were cut entirely from the ceremony. Immediately after the graduation was over, the 12,000+ of us in the stands were herded like cattle out of two doors on opposite sides of the building while the 871 graduates were released from a mysterious third door. I have been to graduations held at the Berry Center in 2015 and 2016. Usually there's plenty of time to locate your graduate, take multiple rounds/rotations of pictures, chat a bit, say goodbye to family members and be on your way. Unfortunately, that was not the case in 2017. Before we were even able to locate our graduate, we were warned by a Cy-Fair "police officer" with a megaphone to " wrap it up... make it short and sweet because another graduation is scheduled in 15 minutes." It took almost all of that 15 minutes just to find my son. I spotted him just as they started shouting it was time to leave. I grabbed him by the wrist and threw him into a pose with my wife comma and snapped a photograph of the two of them together in front of the Berry Center as I had done with my other two graduates. The officer standing next to me shook his head and turned away from me and sarcastically said "okay... we're being nice RIGHT NOW" I stood in front of his face and with the biggest fake smile ever said " thank you so much for being nice, I can't begin to put into words how appreciative I am of you setting aside your time and ego just long enough for us to snap a quick photo to carry out a family tradition. From the bottom of my heart thank you for all of your patience today. I will be sure to write a review about your kindness and professionalism on such a monumental day for my son."
I'm not sure what happened between 2016 graduation and 2017 graduation, but I feel like my entire family got...
Read moreWe just had an event there. Let me tell you exactly what my opinion is on this place.
Pros: Beautiful building Clean restroom Clean building inside as well. Easy access Lots of parking
Cons:
Food Lunch You cannot have outside catering Servers are stingy with the food. They were Serving 2 pieces (little slices) of chicken Fajita and beef fajita. The table talk was all about the food and amount they served and it did not taste good. Fajitas were ok taste wise, however let's start with knowing how to cut them. Some were cut with the grain some against the grain 🤦♀️. Rice was slop, no flavor. It was wet pasta basically. Beans were ok, they tasted like canned beans so I think that saved them. Chili con queso was spicy and ok. Guacamole was pre-made individual containers. ALL THE FOODS WAS SERVED ICE COLD. NOT LUKEWARM BUT C-O-L-D. Except beans were warm. The tortillas, I don't know what those were made of but they looked worse than the mission tortillas. I didn't try them, straight in the trash.
I didn't try the salsa or Pico, they looked unappealing. Food Breakfast The tortilla for the Breakfast tacos was soggy. The fruit was gross and looked old. I didn't try anything else.
Cons continued Not enough restrooms in that area. We were only about 300 and we waited 25 minutes so the line would go down and there was still a line although smaller when we went.
I have no idea how much catering is at the Berry Center but consider what you are feeding your attendees from there. I would really reconsider. At the end of the session, they had containers full of fajitas that they were being stingy with. I don't know if they took that home.
This was my opinion and based on the conversations had, others felt...
Read moreYall gotta get it together Berry Center. The No stroller policy needs to be revisited. Then staff tried to pacify me with a bottle of water as if i didn’t have my hands full with an infant. As much as staff wanted to holler out about disabilities and accommodations yet every seat at the top for persons with disability was nearly full of people, just sitting for the convenience. If you’re not gonna monitor and restrict special seating area for disabled, then you should allow Mothers with infants and strollers in that area.
Also, I was denied elevator use while holding an infant in my hand and asked what is my disability and reason to need to use the elevator .. absolutely ridiculous. I spoke to another staff member and ask why was i denied access to the elevator i have a baby in my hand, she escorted me to the elevator stating i was welcome to the elevator and asked the employee who denied me the elevator why and the staff member LIED saying she said no such thing.
Worst experience I have ever had in a public Today.
All the “no exception “ i was told about my stroller Might I add that initially people were not even allowed to bring umbrellas. People were throwing away their umbrellas and then an exception was made to allow umbrellas. The same place that told me “no exception can be made “ made exceptions on umbrellas but not on a stroller.
They did their job so well to not make exceptions for a stroller but didn’t happen to keep flowers , gifts and noise makers out of the building which where...
