I wish I was here to write a positive review, but unfortunately, this might’ve been the worst haircut I’ve ever received. I came in to donate 12 inches of hair through the Wigs for Kids program, but I ended up getting much more cut off (close to 20 inches after trimming). The two ladies working at the salon were sweet, but they seemed unfamiliar with the donation program. Hair should be sectioned into at least 4 parts (or even more for thick hair like mine), but during my cut, my hairdresser, Joana, haphazardly split my hair into two sections and tied them back loosely with one rubber band at the top (not even hair ties! See attached picture). These rubber bands were placed higher than 12 inches, then when she cut the sections, she proceeded to cut them very unevenly and much above the rubber band (cutting a total of over 16 inches from one of the sections).
The trimming afterwards was decent, and while not an inherently horrible cut, it was NOT what I requested nor what fits my face shape. I ended up with a blunt bob right above the shoulders when I was expecting a layered cut between my shoulder blades. During the cut, Joana told me my hair was “so dry” and I should use leave-in conditioner (yes, I’m low maintenance with my hair so I knew that already, but I’d been growing my hair out for many years so it was bound to be a little dead, and the whole salon didn’t need to know that). At least my hair is virgin (never dyed, bleached, or permed, and rarely heat treated with straighteners, curlers, or even blow dryers).
Once my cut was over, they returned my hair to me in a Great Clips bag and provided the form and envelope to ship it out, but in other locations I’ve previously been to, they wrapped the hair in tissue paper and placed it in a ziploc bag per the Wigs for Kids guidelines. Hopefully the hair is still fit for donation since it never touched the ground. In the end, I was still required to pay for the haircut although Great Clips offers free haircuts when donating (per their own website). When I asked about this, the ladies told me the free cut only applied when shaving off the entire head for cancer donations (which is not true in my experience nor what their website says, see photo). Safe to say I quickly paid and left to cry in the car. I do not...
Read moreI rarely write reviews but I am BEYOND disappointed with my experience yesterday. Mary (the Black lady with the long hair and mask) was very rude and did a terrible job cutting my hair.
I came in with very long hair (to my hips) and asked to have it cut a little shorter medium length below my shoulders). It was clear that she did not listen to me because she immediately began chopping off my hair. She did not ask any follow up questions to confirm what I wanted or even show me the length she was cutting after I showed the length I wanted with my hands.
Instead she cut my hair ABOVE my shoulders and dismissed my concerns when I expressed that it was too short.
I asked if I could be able to donate my hair and she was rude about that too. She cut my hair for donation and dropped it on the floor, falling out of the ponytail and leaving it pretty much unable to be donated.
She also did not blow dry my hair and said I was finished leaving me with wet hair from the spray bottle.
The whole process took about 10 minutes max and it was very obvious that she was rushing the whole time. It was nothing like I asked for and I am very upset.
Do not go to this location, and if u do, do not let Mary cut your hair. She should not be working here if she is that rude and unhappy with her job. She does not know how to cut hair. I probably could have done a better job cutting it myself. Please listen to my review and the many others regarding...
Read moreUPDATE: Previously a 5 star. I came in to get a trim and freshen the ends of my hair for my upcoming college graduation… I had been to this location a few times and had hair cuts from two different hairdressers, someone new cut my hair this time and I’m not quite sure what happened. First off, the apron was not cleaned and was covered in someone’s white hair. The hairdresser didn’t seem very interested or enthusiastic like I had experienced previously with other employees. My hair wasn’t really blended like it was previously and a noticeable amount of hair was added to the face framing especially on the left side. I previously had light face framing but now it feels chunky. Once I put my glasses back on and told her that the face framing looked heavier than it did before, she immediately got defensive and said that it was cut the same way as before instead of asking what could be done to fix it. I have really long hair down to my waist and it is going to take a long time for the portions of hair that were cut too short to grow back out again. I just showed it to my grandmother and you should have seen the face she made.
OLD: Friendly staff and probably one of the best hair cuts I’ve gotten from a great clips! I went around several months ago and will likely...
