First, the thing most people dislike, the cost. It is expensive, $9 for 3 scoops. However if I think about other craft homemade ice cream places in our city that I love, Milk+Sugar, Cloud 10 or Amorino, Cheaters is inline price-wise with those. The difference is Cheaters opened in the suburbs where people often think budget before quality.
The service was good, the lady who served me was friendly (Sorry don't remember the name but began with an M!).
I got three different flavors. Each serving was not huge but overall it was too much, which is a good thing. I can eat three scoops of regular ice cream (think Baskin) no problem but really good ice cream is so rich and creamy it's much tougher to get through. This is clearly very cream-heavy with real ingredients that does what those other places I mentioned above do well, make a fantastic rich base for the flavors.
My test for a lot of places is to try the mint-choc-chip. A lot of ice cream has almost no mint flavor but the MCC at Cheaters was great, really minty with solid chunks of real chocolate.
I would like to see some more adventurous flavors on offer in the future (Milk+Sugar for example have things like Early Grey with Lavender and Horchata flavors which are amazing).
I would also love to see them offer dog ice cream as a sideline (often non-dairy and lower sugar) and a few outdoor seats. We are always looking or places to take the pup and chill for a bit (Bruster's is our current go-to for that).
Either way I will absolutely be...
Read moreMy husband and I were really excited to try this place. We love a good ice cream treat, and surely a food truck turned brick and mortar establishment has something delicious to offer. We each sampled several flavors before making our decisions, and that was when I first started noticing something was weird about the ice cream. I don't have covid taste-loss but I kind of felt like I did when the Cookie Monster, Cake Batter, and Cherry Vanilla flavors were all extremely similar. I got a vague idea of what the flavor was going for but I felt like there simply wasn't enough going on to distinguish what shouldve been three distinct flavors. The dominant flavor was really just sweet cream. I ordered a scoop of Cookie Monster and I was really disappointed that, despite the appearance of cookies mixed in, there wasn't a lot of cookie taste OR texture. The ice cream IS high quality. It's extremely thick and creamy. I just think that it doesn't have a lot of flavor. If you're looking for a good sweet cream ice cream, this is probably the place to go. But for more exciting flavors and for cookie-loving girlies like myself, there are a LOT better...

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They happily let me try flavors. They explained they make the ice cream in house fresh twice a week. They had a lot of custom and delicious flavors. They were so proud of their products and so happy to help their customers which is sadly rare these days and made me immediately fall in love with this business!
Absolutely the best tasting, most creamy, and fresh ice-cream I’ve ever eaten from anywhere!!! This blows every other ice-cream shop out of the water positively!!
I had trouble choosing a flavor but ended up on the cappuccino chip one in shake form.
Listen these shakes are elite and legit thick full of ice-cream shakes!!! Not some milked down liquid concoction. They give you large diameter straws and they are needed and appreciated. The blenders they use are so quiet too which is nice to not hear ear defending noise in the store.
They sell packed container pints too.
The store is so cute and immaculately clean. They have a huge mural on the wall that was very interesting also.
This was an absolute treat and I wish we had a location close to...
