I have a story to share for a family that have small children, especially for moms that take kids and dogs out at the same time. This is great park for dogs and family members to hang out together. I take my dog there almost every day. Most dogs are friendly, but not all dog's owner. I had my 6-year-old son with me today at the park, and he loves to play with other dogs (in the nice way like petting). While I was waiting for my dog to play at the swamp. My son was running around and pet some dogs nearby. Suddenly I heard a guy with an attitude looking yelling to my son and ask for the parent. I was standing behind and already see what is going on, but not sure what he was complaining about. He told me that my son pets his dog and yelled that this park belongs to dogs, not kids. I just don't get it why he was so upset, so I asked him nicely if children aren't allowed in here. He still yelled at me that "the sign said play at your own risk, if his dog bite my son, it is not his responsibility, it is mine". I was even more curious his dogs are so nice and tame and looks like they love to be petted. What really made him upset? I think he was upset because my son was running close to the area, he was playing fetch with his dogs which I understand. But if he could have told me or my son nicer would make himself look better. Maybe, he just had a bad day, or just one of those who consider themselves the most important. Anyway, I stopped my son from being close to him to end the problem. This person appeared with ton of bad attitude. You can tell when you see he command his dogs. (That explain why his dogs are tame) I am not saying my son was doing right thing petting other dog, but he is only 6 years old. It could be my fault that let him, because I think kids have positive energy to go along with dogs and most dog owners are nice. Today I learn from my experience that some people are just born to be mean and rude even with kids. Mothers with small kids watch out for these, not everyone has kindness for your kids. He is tall and muscular. He came with about 3-4 dogs, playing fetch. His dogs are totally nice, but if you have children, don't let your children play close to his dogs. He might pass negative energy to your children. My son expression instantly turned sad when the guy yelled but I comforted him and make sure that I washed off those attitudes away afterward. Great Park but watch out for mean people. I just found one...
Read moreMy children have been bided by a toy Aussie on 4/5/2023. When my son just entered into the small dog park right after he unleashed our mini Aussie, the three toy Aussies were running to my son and barking a lot. The owner is a Japanese man, who was just standing and watching his dogs barks and ran into the kids. I was few steps behind my kids into the park. My son told me his smallest dog bited his left foot. The skin was red scratches. I immediately washed his foot and found a skin scraped by his dog’s teeth. I walked towards the Japanese man and told him what happened his dog. He didn’t say sorry at all. He said his dogs don’t bite. I was asking his cellphone number and making sure he will send my his dog vaccine records right after he is home. And then we are heading to the gate for leaving, my daughter walked behind me. I turned back and told her to hurry up. I was watching the same dog running to my daughter’s feet and biting her legs. I was yelling to stop the dog, and the dog was stepping back. The owner Japanese man were not intending leashed his dogs or pretending further hurts to my children. I found two teeth bites area were bruises. While I washed my daughter’s leg, I called 911. The Japanese man told police that his dogs do not like kids, and they were chasing my kids and my kids were scared. He was lying absolutely. My son was standing by the gate and my daughter was walking to the gate. The owner Japanese man did say sorry until the police showed him my son’s and daughter’s pictures. I took the pictures few hours after we were waiting for the police officer communicated with the animal control officer. PLEASE beware and keep safe distance to the THREE dogs from the Japanese man at...
Read moreLargest lake I've seen at a local park in a long time - it's HUGE and stocked for fishing so bring your rods (and fishing licenses 😉👍). Beautiful for a meditative walk while listening to music, a jog or bike ride on the wide lakeside trails, or for a leisurely trip with the kids for playtime.

There is also a low fence near the water, protecting the playground area just in case a Superman dog made it all the way across 👍
