Love this park so much. The playground has plenty of space for big and little kids to slide, run, swing, and climb. There are at least 3 play structures in the mulch area with different size slides, variations of climbing, a spider web type structure, and 2 each baby and big kid swings, with 1 special needs swing too. There's a wide path that loops around the lake with exercise pit stop signs spaced alone the way, picnic tables and benches some shaded and some in shade, and fishing. Theres a grassy area next to the playground, and multi-stall restrooms near the entrance. The parking lot fills up on busy days, and the restroom sinks are the metal kind with a short spout, but with covid we always carry sanitizer anyway. Took my kids at about 8 am before it go too hot, and they had a great time. It was motivating to see so many people out jogging/walking/and working out. Maybe next time ill bring scooters and get some steps in, or take the kids for a jog. This park is very close to our church (Cornerstone UMC on West Rd) and the library (Lone Star Branch of HCPL) is on our way home if we need to cool off and rest. We had my daughters 3 year old birthday party here, November pre-covid, and it was perfect. The kids got to play, the adults got to chat, and everyone had a great time without needing to spend a lot of money. After the friends left, the family cleaned up while the kids went looking for ducks and turtles. Definitely plan to do park birthdays again. They're simple, fun, and affordable, and this location...

I absolutely love visiting Deputy Darren Goforth Park, especially for its incredible dog park and scenic loop trail around the lake.
Dog Park Highlights: • There are separate areas for large and small dogs—perfect for letting pups roam safely and play freely. • The dog-friendly features are outstanding: a beach access into the lake, dog fountains, wash stations, agility equipment, and even shaded pavilions. • The park is well-maintained, grassy, and clean, making it ideal for socializing and exercise time with furry friends.
Trail & Outdoor Appeal: • The paved loop trail runs nearly two miles around the peaceful lake—great for walking, jogging, or biking. • There are exercise stations along the trail and plenty of parking at both main entrances. • Although the park is relatively new and still growing in tree cover, the open layout offers wide views and scenic lake reflections—especially at sunset.
Additional Perks: • It’s family-friendly with playgrounds, picnic spots, and restrooms on both sides of the park. • The park feels safe and secure. Community presence and periodic patrols help make every visit comfortable. • Fishing is allowed for catch and release along the lakefront—not for swimming or boating—even though dogs enjoy a...

Since it is a non driving ticket it will go on your criminal record. Wish I would of known before hand.
Strongly advise following the posted hours at this location. It's not worth the headache and trouble it takes to try and fight the ticket.
The most important thing to know when coming here is to DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR VEHICLE.
IF YOU DO PEOPLE WILL BREAK INTO YOUR VEHICLE, and FIND WHERE YOU HID THEM.
DON'T BE STUPID AND THINK IT WON'T HAPPEN TO YOU.
IT'S NOT IF......IT'S A MATTER OF WHEN. And if you have left stuff in your vehicle, and nothing has happened yet. Then you have been very fortunate.
** The park is only as safe as you make it. Don't be a victim.
Don't bring cash, credit cards, social security cards,or anything you don't want to disappear.
PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS and you should be fine.
AGAIN if you FAIL TO FOLLOW THE ABOVE and your vehicle gets broken into, don't look for a Pity party for your...
