My husband James & I have been members at Clairevista for a few months now, and we can't imagine working out anywhere else in the Dallas area (and certainly not in Oak Cliff). I tried Planet Fitness for a hot minute, but once we discovered Clairevista we were hooked.
We use the gym primarily for its resistance and weight-training equipment. I have used the treadmills a couple times, but we get our cardio through cycling and other outdoor recreation. Unlike conventional corporate fitness facilities, CVC fosters a sense of family, accountability, and privacy. What it lacks in square footage (it is small in comparison to your standard 24-Hour Fitness or Gold's Gym, to be sure) it makes up for in efficiency of space: the floor plan and equipment layout are clearly mindfully designed. Other members are polite & friendly but mostly keep to themselves and focus on their own workouts, which we appreciate. We frequently find ourselves with the place to ourselves, tune to a Sirius station of our choice on the PA, and hit the bench press. Everything is kept remarkably clean, including the locker rooms which feature spacious showers, private bathrooms, and basic toiletries.
One part of CVC that we especially love is how simple and straight-forward is its underlying mission: to help you build a better you. No gimmicks, no in-your-face bulldog personal training, no pomp and circumstance: just measured, honest support. They provide the tools and expertise you need to get whatever results you desire. They promote a holistic approach, recognizing that well-being has just as much to do with balancing your emotional, mental, and social health as it does your exercise and nutrition habits. It's the way fitness should be.
And if all this doesn't sell you on Clairevista, you should know that the Belmont Hotel pool is endlessly accessible to all gym members. We have taken full advantage of that on those hot summer days and nights! (It's heated, too, so we're excited to try it out in the winter months.)
While I understand this style of gym is not for everyone (some people prefer a high-energy, fast-paced, see-and-be-seen club with all the whistles and bells), I like to think there are still some of us who prefer to exercise in an unintimidating, intimate environment that meets all the necessary criteria to genuinely self-improve. I hope...

I’m Latisha and I was referred to Chris by my mom, who couldn’t stop raving about the incredible benefits of MPS therapy for chronic pain. For over a decade, I had been living with excruciating, unexplained pain stemming from my C-section scar. My monthly cycles were unbearable—leading to emergency room visits, countless bottles of pain relievers, and days lost to suffering. Despite seeing multiple doctors, no one had any answers for me.
The pain wasn’t just localized; it radiated from my pelvic area all the way up to my right shoulder every single month. But after just one MPS treatment with Chris, everything changed. For the first time in over 10 years, I experienced little to no pain and had a normal cycle—something I hadn’t felt since my high school days! This therapy is truly transformative, and I can’t believe it’s not more widely known.
Chris and Brian, who followed my MPS therapy with a massage, were incredible. They are deeply knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly listened as I shared my struggles. They made me feel completely at ease, even as I poured out all my “girly issues.”
To add to the magic, I had a back fusion surgery in 2021, where they accessed my spine through my lower abdomen. The scar had remained sensitive for years, making it uncomfortable to wear certain clothes. After the MPS treatment, the sensitivity vanished—it’s like the scar finally healed fully.
This experience has been nothing short of life-changing. If you’re struggling with chronic pain, scar sensitivity, or unexplainable symptoms, MPS therapy is worth every moment of your time. Chris and Brian are miracle workers, and I cannot recommend them...
Read moreI would highly recommend this gym for anyone looking to understand not only how to work out, but to also get a comprehensive understanding of their overall health so they can have long-term improvements!
I specifically made use of the small group fitness classes - you might have a bit of sticker shock in seeing the monthly fee, but I can confidently say these classes make it well worth it. This is especially helpful if you are a beginner to strength training / weight lifting, and want to learn proper form. The class is limited to 4 people (very different from most gym’s fitness classes) and Renee is a phenomenal trainer who really takes the time to make sure each person in her class has the correct form and is so quick in thinking of adjustments in case someone is not able to do that exercise. She has such a wonderful and compassionate energy that really helped me kickstart my regular workouts.
All the staff at the gym really cares about educating you, whether it be about how to recover with yoga after strength training workouts or how you can alter your diet to feel better.
Definitely not “just another gym” and would recommend checking it out for anyone looking to learn a ton in a non-judgmental...
