Came in today to buy some Josieās and was āhelpedā by a lady who never gave me her name. I had seen the boots I wanted from a friend who owned a pair. I did my research on the brand and appreciated how these were made in Mexico being of Mexican descent and by being a Texan that this was a Texas company. I read reviews as well as looked on the website and as every company has a standard I was eager to walk in be greeted and have a cold beer as I shopped and was excited to use my military discount. Perhaps I should have paid more attention to the review of the Latino male who walked in and was ignored but I continued to find my way to the store. I walk in and I have to take a couple strolls around for anyone to ask if I need help even though many were just hanging out. I observe as others are asked about that cold beer or water they wanted. As Iām looking around to see was anyone going to ask to help me I do catch eyes with the short hair blonde with glasses and slightly older then the rest of the sales people so I think great! Iāll get quality service. I was checking between two sizes to see what was the better fit and two styles (Josie/Annie I believe) she is not excited about that. I tell her Iām going to continue to shop around the store, still no drink but I can hear everyone from in front of me to behind me being asked would you like a beer. She had to have heard as well. This isnāt my job this is your job and your getting cues on your job around you and youāre still not doing it. Whatās irritating is not getting the same quality of service for what could be simply below average salesperson or because I donāt look the same as the others. If I made another guess I was the only Doctor in that store but Iām sure she didnāt think that because of my color or tattoos. Treat ALL your customers with the same quality of customer service is all I could wish for. I asked if sales were commission based because I definitely didnāt want her to get any sale from me, I would have rather bought online but was told it wasnāt so I continued with my purchase of boots and long sleeve shirt. As I was at the end of my sale she reappeared just to not make any contact but text on her phone as she had been doing earlier when I was shopping for a shirt and looking for a dressing room and had to ask another sales person for help. If you want minority money and to have our image on your website then treat us better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreShopping at Tecovas was very disappointing. I honestly felt racially profiled as the red haired girl associate was very unhelpful and rude. Everyone time I requested something she would literally tell me no. Over the phone she told me I couldnāt get my boots stretched because I had to wear them first to break them because the boots were soft leather. After me showing up and asking several times to still stretch she finally gave in. As a custom I have no reason to beg a store associate to do their job that they are getting paid to do. She told me I would I have to pick them up on a Sunday and I had dropped them off a Friday evening. That same evening of Friday I asked her if we can brand the boots and she told me no because I have to wait for 30 minutes for the metal to cool down so the boots wonāt burn. Now itās Sunday Iām picking up my boots and I ask her if she can brand them, the same associate I felt with Friday, the read head white female, and she told me she doesnāt recommend it since my boots were black and wonāt show. She kept denying after I persisted that I wanted them branded but finally gave in. After she agreed to Brand MY BOOTS, she showed the table to choose the branding I wanted. I saw the Greek letters, and she saw me look at them and from my recollection of the event she basically told me those werenāt for me. I honestly felt racial profiled at this point because how can you assume I am not in a Greek Organization. I am currently working on my second degree and I am also a member of a Greek organization. I get that Iām Hispanic but donāt stereotype me based on the color of my skin and ethnicity. I understand the public climate we are in but that is no way to treat a customer. After this I said whatever Iāll just get my initials. And tell me why she heated up the metal and did not wait 30 minutes for it to cool down like she previously stated that Friday. Like if you didnāt want to help me out you shouldāve just said that instead of giving this poor excuse of customer service. You have ruined my experience with Tecovas, I hope your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this store less than one star - I would. We are Tecova fans at our house (after many years of being exclusive to Lucchese). We entered the store around 6 pm (open to 8 pm), knowing exactly what we came to buy. The store was moderately busy. No employee greeted us nor offered us help. Two men working there were idle and leaned up against furniture and commented that "9 pm would be here soon" to themselves within earshot. We finally had to ask for help in order to buy a pair of boots. One of the tall bearded guys (ironically outfitted in the boots we came to buy) finally came to help, but warned us that the "stock was ravaged by Christmas" and that he was low on all sizes. He was able to produce the boots/size we wanted, but the sizing was off and we needed to try smaller. He said they would get their stock replenished Tuesday or Thursday with their next shipment, but he was unsure if the shipment would have what we needed. There was no effort to secure the size we needed or an offer to call us when it was in. He said we could call ourselves if we wanted to check on it. The 5 star customer service noted in other reviews for this store was notably absent, and it makes me question our choice of the Tecova brand. Lucchese has a similar, more expensive boot (the Lincoln, $495, check it out). Perhaps Lucchese should have...
