BEWARE!! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS COMPANY!! Like thousands of other customers I fell for the “customized experience” that Interior Define touted. After my furniture supposedly being “on the water” for months, I reached out for an update and so began the descent into Interior Define’s insufferable web of lies and deceit. Customers who have made the unfortunate choice of ordering with ID cannot reach them by phone or chat (unless circumventing their system by selecting the “new order” category) and are relegated to hit or miss taciturn email responses. After requesting my two orders be canceled and money refunded in full, ID attempted to bargain and offer a partial credit for my inconvenience. It’s NEVER a good sign when companies begin to bargain. In ID’s case it’s indeed the fourth stage of grief because it’s obvious that this company is a dead, belly up fish in the water. Several employee reviews on glass door allude to the company being cash strapped and the delivery delays stemming from failure to pay vendors, not LA port issues. I refused the credit and once again requested cancelation and refund. I was advised I’d see the refund within 10-14 days. THIRTY days have passed and I’ve seen nothing but Interior Define continuing to lure new customers in, even going so far as to provide incentives for utilizing Affirm to purchase which is completely duplicitous on their part as Affirm customers have absolutely no dispute or recourse process and ID knows it. Do yourself a favor and go to Z Gallerie or any other establishment that offers customizable furniture. Interior Define is on fire and it’s the customers who are getting burned over and over again. I will continue to file complaints and sound all horns until every on of my SIX THOUSAND dollars are...
Read moreMy wife and I went into the store today just having seen the James sofa online and wanted to see how it felt in person. When we walked into the store, Monica was there to greet us and was more than happy to assist us for the simple task. When we got to the sofa she was incredibly knowledgeable about not only that specific sofas dimensions and different options, but about every single product they have in store and online. We proceeded to browse the entire online gallery, per Monica’s suggestion and with her guidance, to narrow down some of the top options based on our style and expectations. We were then able to actually see and sit on those options available in the gallery, all of which were there other than I believe one of the online options.
After all of that, we still didn’t know which collection we wanted to decide on, so she wisely helped guide us to realize what we already had narrowed down, and we were able to pick out all of the edits like legs, fabric, color, and cushion choice.
Finally we settled on the Sloan sofa, as well as an accent chair that she was so helpful in finding our perfect match in.
Basically without Monica, we would have walked in the store and thought “meh” about The James, and still be searching for our sofa instead of thrilled with the purchase and price that we decided on today, with sofa finally checked off on our list.
If you’re browsing online and having trouble like we were, go to the store and hopefully Monica is able to help you. You won’t regret the drive because the service was absolutely five star!...
Read moreEchoing everyone else's experience, I ordered from ID after meeting with Megan at this location (she was GREAT btw!) and we were looking forward to the couches.
That said, got an email from the CEO indicating customers have lost trust, and that my order is delayed (now halfway thru 2023!), and shortly after my phone began suggesting articles to me about some trouble going on with Interior Define. Long story short, it seems like nobody has been receiving orders for months and the company is in financial trouble. Famous interior designers Chris and Julia decided to cut relationships with the company. Allegedly many of the shipping companies that Interior Define works with have not been paid. Many stores throughout the nation have closed (and one even has a subpoena!). There are just too many red flags.
I reached out to Interior Define via their Chat function, and was instructed by an agent, Tyra, to fill out a Google Form for a full refund (though, based on various rumblings online it seems like people have filled out that form weeks ago and haven't heard a peep). Also, the fact that it was a Google form came off a bit shady (vs if it was directly on their website).
For that reason, I ended up opening a dispute with my credit card company just in case this company does go bankrupt (fyi--my card has a 60 day limit to report disputes, others may have a similar limit too). Loved the couch, was looking forward to it actually, but I just can't afford to lose...
